Screenwriter Craig Mazin was Cruz's freshman year roommate in 1988 Said he was invited to senior parties because people felt sorry he had to be Cruz's roommate Mazin said girls would complain to him after Cruz would walk to their side of the dorm in his bath robe '
'Other than existing, what's the worst thing Ted did to you?' one asked.
'Set his alarm for 7am and then hit the snooze button seven times in a row,' Mazin replied. 'Day after day. Until I crazy-glued it.'
But Mazin didn't have a response when one Twitter user asked what Cruz did on a 'typical Friday night in college'.
'I have no idea,' Mazin replied. 'Because the first thing I did after my last class of the week was GET THE F*** AWAY FROM TED CRUZ.'
One user couldn't believe it had been all bad, asking Mazin if at any point during in their dorm he and Cruz shared 'genuine moment', made 'sincere eye contact' or even agreed on what television show to watch.
'No, no and no,' Mazin responded.
The screenwriter did admit there was one benefit to being Cruz's roommate. Along with the party invites out of pity, he said his hatred of Cruz 'got me laid a few times in '88'.
But along with the jokes and tales from college, Mazin has been vocal in his belief that Cruz would make a dangerous president.
'Ted Cruz will become the thing you need him to be so that he wins an election,' Mazin wrote. 'No principles, no moral center, no values. Just ambition.'
Mazin said that ambition came from Cruz's upbringing: 'Ted has wanted to be President ever since his father told him that's what Jesus really, really wanted to happen,' he wrote on Twitter.

This is your opinion, not mine. So, blah, blah, blah, to your misinformed thought processes.
Are you new around here? If so, I guess you missed the nasty Cruzbot postings day in and day out. We had to fight back, and shame on you for blaming one side in this - none of us posted anti-Cruz articles like what was being done to Trump. Get your facts straight, and then maybe, just maybe, we can have a conversation.
Merciless. It will be merciless.
I’m very much looking forward to it.
Interestingly though, Princeton is one of the few elite universities with a large, growing, and thriving Christian community — both Catholic and Evangelical. Unlike its peers Yale and Harvard, Princeton so far has taken what could be called a “benign neglect” approach to Christian groups.
Most of those who troll like you want to pretend that they're concerned. I was just wondering.
Do you need a tissue?
Good, its coming. With a vengeance.
Cheap trash. Cruz isn’t my preference but “kiss and tell” and/or make believe stories and/or embellished stories like this reflect more poorly on the teller than the target.
This guy is a screenwriter, so I have to assume he has plenty of fame with his name on the silver screen.
You gotta be kidding me. Have you ever talked to a screenwriter? Screenwriters get no respect. A screenwriter at Craig Mazin's level is lucky if the people working on the films he's written recognize his name. Can you name five screenwriters who are not better known as actors, directors or novelists? Screenwriters who achieved fame as screenwriters, in other words? Most people can't.
I have no idea if fame really matters that much to him, but I don't doubt that Mazin got far more attention as Cruz's ex-roommate than he ever did as a screenwriter.
so it got so bad he got laid for hating Ted Cruz. That makes more sense than most reasons I’ve seen posted on FR
Herbert Spinecki. He was into football.
