Baby Bernie, the cheerful infant who won the affections of people of all political stripes after his mom posted photos of him greeting Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders in a white-haired wig and over-sized glasses, has died at the age of 4 months.
Oliver Jack Carter Lomas-Davis of Los Angeles died Feb. 25.
His aunt Anastasia Lomas told The Associated Press on Thursday the cause was Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
The Baby Bernie nickname came after Olivers mother, Susan Lomas, posted pictures on Facebook and Twitter of the baby and Sanders meeting.

Very sad, condolences to the family..RIP
That’s absolutely horrible.
Oh my goodness. Prayers!
Poor kid.
Hardest loss. Prayers for family.
RIP :(
That’s terrible. A great loss.
How awful.
I heard a theory once, the area of the brain that controls breathing is among the last to develop, hence, for some reason, they just stop breathing.
So sad. RIP, baby Oliver.
SIDS is horrible. Prayers to the family. The little one was so cute.
I wouldn’t have told anyone outside the family, but I suppose they had to respond to the public in the case. The baby probably had several Facebook sites dedicated to or inspired by him, so eventually, folks would be asking about him.
At least he didn’t die from people passing him around to take selfies like that baby dolphin a few weeks back.
Sorry about the baby dying, but where are the stories about what is going on in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Mali, Lebanon, Yemen, and the Sinai, where many innocents are dying?
Probably the saddest thing I ever experienced was when our little baby niece died like this.
Just thinking about it makes me tear up.
I want to never forget her.
There are plenty of such stories. Covering one story doesn’t preclude covering others.
Clinton body count +1
Very sad for the family.
Two days after his four month vaccines. Go figure. When will people wake the heck up? SIDS is NOT a mystery, babies die after vaccines.
