Allow me to make an extreme comparison.
Along with their murderous, barbaric policies and practices, the Nazis engaged in serious medical research, and some Nazi doctors, like Prof. Dr. Julius Hallervorden (1882-1965), a famous neurologist who became head of the Neuropathology Department of the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Brain Research in 1938, continued to advance their medical research after the Holocaust.
Yet no person in his or her right mind would say, I hate the fact that these Nazi doctors were involved in torturing and slaughtering so many people, but they helped a lot of people too, so Im going to be balanced in my criticism.
To highlight the absurdity of this, lets consider Donald Trumps post-Super Tuesday comments when he again gave qualified praise to Planned Parenthood. But here Ill substitute Nazis for Planned Parenthood and genocide for abortion.
His comments would then read: Look, the Nazis have done very good work for many, many — for millions of women. And Ill say it, and I know a lot of the so-called conservatives, they say thats really … cause Im a conservative, but Im a common-sense conservative.
We're not going to allow, and we're not going to fund, as long as you have the genocide going on . . . .
To quote (with the same word-changes) from his most recent debate, So you can say whatever you want, but they have millions of women going through the Nazis that are helped greatly.
Can you imagine anyone making statements like these?
For all those who are offended by the comparison between the Nazis and Planned Parenthood and between genocide and abortion, please take a look at some abortion photos, consider the compelling evidence that Planned Parenthood traffics in aborted baby parts (despite a recent court ruling to the contrary), and remember that Planned Parenthood has covered up for men who sexually abused minors.
Note also that, according to the Heritage Foundation, Despite a nearly 20 percent decline in the number of abortions in the country between 2000 and 2011, the number of abortions Planned Parenthood performed during that time increased from 197,070 to 333,964, thereby more than doubling its share of the abortion market from 15 percent in 2000 to 32 percent in 2011, the latest year for which national data are available.
Put simply, can anyone who is in any true sense of the word pro-life praise the nations largest and most aggressive abortion provider, despite other services they perform?
To give another example, no one with a pro-life bone in their body would say, Well, Dr. Kermit Gosnell helped a lot of women over the years, and we really appreciate that, but were upset that he killed living babies as well.
No. They would excoriate Gosnells so-called House of Horrors and would say that its good hes behind bars.
In the same way, it is absolutely ludicrous that Donald Trump would once more sing the praises of Planned Parenthood (with the exception of their abortion industry) at his Tuesday night, widely-televised, national press conference, despite all the innocent baby blood on their hands.
More absurd still, he called those who criticized him on this so-called conservatives.
What, Mr. Trump? Will you say that to the people who, as true moral conservatives, have sacrificially invested dozens of years of their lives to fight against Planned Parenthood? Would you say that they are so-called conservatives and you are the true conservative because you recognize all the good Planned Parenthood has done?
If womens health care is an issue to you (and I believe it is), then let the government help out the countless thousands of non-Planned Parenthood healthcare clinics. These clinics massively outnumber the Planned Parenthood clinics and they do not have the blood of abortion on their hands.
For those who are still upset with me over the Nazi comparison (and Im not claiming it is an exact parallel), lets change the analogy for a moment.
Lets say theres a big hospital that has operated in your city for decades, saving thousands of lives over the years with its terrific healthcare programs. Unfortunately, its also infamous for euthanizing about one-third of its patients, both young and old, at the discretion of the doctors.
You would not say, Hey, I would fund the hospital if not for all that euthanasia. You see, Ive heard from thousands of people I have letters from them telling me about the great work they do. Theyve really helped a lot of people.
Of course not.
You would say instead, What a horror! That hospital needs to be shut down today and those doctors need to be charged with murder.
So it is with Planned Parenthood, and if anyone needed proof that Donald Trump is still not a true pro-life candidate, his continued qualified praise of Planned Parenthood, coupled with the vilification of his conservative pro-life critics, says it all.
With the makeup of the Supreme Court hanging in the balance and with the absence of Justice Scalia already being felt, it is critical that we elect a true pro-life president.
Lets do what we need to do while the options are still there.
No, I’d much rather have my taxes go toward raising these welfare babies so they can grow up to make more so my children can have the honor of paying taxes to raise them. /s
Common sense conservatism. Is that like common sense gun control?
2013 Planned Parenthood
2.7 MILLION Patients
4.6 MILLION Clinical Visits
10.6 MILLION Discrete services
328 THOUSAND Abortions.
It seems to me that there were a lot of useful services to womens health FAR BEYOND the despicable Abortion practices which color everybodys opinion. ALL or NOTHING is what you people are saying. Youre just a bunch of fanatics!
So, now we're "fanatics" for wanting to shut down Big Murder?
The hallmark of cultish fanaticism is the utter inability to acknowledge ANY FAULT in the cult leader.
You think Big Murder is "useful" because they go "far beyond" MURDERING ONE THOUSAND INNOCENT AMERICANS EACH DAY?
You don't think this is an "all or nothing" proposition?
In case you hadn’t noticed your taxes already do go there, handing out the pill hasn’t changed that actually its made it worse. Ask yourself have there been fewer or more single mothers and welfare babies since women started taking the pill?
Like I said, there is no reason for PP to exist without Abortions.
Will not fund abortions......but will continue to fund PPs other activities, which are??. Who knows what goes on behind closed doors once they get the money for their "other activities"...sure we can trust them to do the right thing, yep/s
I get 100% of what I want with the other guy, especially on the abortion issue. It is not Trump v Clinton yet. PP uses one bucket for all of their services. Even if they stopped performing abortions, they would still be using our tax money to support and promote radical leftists politicians and would still be singing the praises of abortion in every school in the country in which they are allowed - and there are a lot of them.
Funding 20% of their murders versus funding 100% of their murders is going to make no difference when we have to answer to our Creator. That’s why we stand on our principles.
I can’t believe FReepers are justifying Planned Parenthood. I’ve had my tag line since my signup date but I’m going to have to change it: March 3, 2016: The date FReepers justified the “goodness” of Planned Parenthood.
Oh it’s so much better to be the Republican House and Senate that fully Funded Planned Parenthood! Kiss my sweet arse:-)
Indeed he is. Trump had absolutely no problem with abortion for years, and even supported partial birth abortion without blinking. But, then he started floating the idea of running for President as a Republican, and saw what happens to pro-abortion candidates (Rudy Giuliani, etc.) who try to win the GOP nomination nationally. So Trump "changed his mind" on abortion overnight, and made sure to use the word "pro-life" to describe himself, and throw in some meaningless platitudes about defunding abortion in speeches to conservative voters.
The sad thing is his supporters believe he's sincere in these views and not playing the "say what they wanna hear so they elect me" game.
Compromise. compromise. If life from conception was protected by a law established by congress in the sixties America and the other nations funded with taxes would not be facing the wrath of God for child sacrifice. the only reprieve will come with a repentence and a bulldozing of clinics and hospitals. That will only delay the inevitable. Not even DT will stop the coming wrath since asking forgiveness is not in the vocabulary.
Young women are not stupid cows. They are women who have been lied to their whole lives about their sexuality and the status it brings them socially. They are lied to about boys and men. Want to be popular? Want a boyfriend? Get on the pill have sex and make the guy feel good then he will love you. Girls believe that boys and men will love them if they have sex with them not because the are stupid but because that’s what they have been told. Are women designed to want babies? Yes. That’s just biology, but what they are not told is unless the man is forced by the woman to make a commitment to her first they will bed her and leave. If you want to end the welfare state tell young girls to stay off the pill and not to have sex with someone you aren’t married to. Old fashioned yes, but effective.
Kinda like praising Al Capone because he gave to the Salvation Army?
I honestly don’t know. I just assume these folks are going to act like rabbits and if a few cents can prevent new ones then it may be cheaper than supporting babies with big bucks for life.
I don’t really judge what people do unless it costs me.
I don’t know whether Trump is sincere in his pro-life views or not. No one does.
But I do believe he is sincere in his position to build the wall and counter the jihad, and is the candidate most likely to have success doing so.
I’m on board with him for those reasons. Anything else will be gravy.
“Common Sense Conservative = someone who uses his brain to THINK instead of throwing the baby out with the bathwater.”
That’s really an unfortunate analogy to pick when you are trying to defend funding baby murderers.
Now as for the statistics you posted, you are using Planned Parenthood’s own rigged statistics, which every conservative on this forum should know are false, because we debunked them right here years ago. Or have you forgotten? Been struck by Trumpnesia?
Your creator is going to want to know why you listened to 40 year of GOP candidate who funded the murders just because they while telling you the correct talking points on the campaign trail.
Then elect your guy and continue the 40 year traditon of GOP politicians who tell you what you want to hear and do NOTHING to end the murders.
