If You’re Pro-Life You Don’t Praise Planned Parenthood
Townhall.com ^ | March 3, 2016 | Michael Brown

Allow me to make an extreme comparison.

Along with their murderous, barbaric policies and practices, the Nazis engaged in serious medical research, and some Nazi doctors, like Prof. Dr. Julius Hallervorden (1882-1965), a famous neurologist who became head of the Neuropathology Department of the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Brain Research in 1938, continued to advance their medical research after the Holocaust.

Yet no person in his or her right mind would say, “I hate the fact that these Nazi doctors were involved in torturing and slaughtering so many people, but they helped a lot of people too, so I’m going to be balanced in my criticism.”

To highlight the absurdity of this, let’s consider Donald Trump’s post-Super Tuesday comments when he again gave qualified praise to Planned Parenthood. But here I’ll substitute “Nazis” for “Planned Parenthood” and “genocide” for “abortion.”

His comments would then read: “Look, the Nazis have done very good work for many, many — for millions of women. And I’ll say it, and I know a lot of the so-called conservatives, they say that’s really … cause I’m a conservative, but I’m a common-sense conservative.”

“We're not going to allow, and we're not going to fund, as long as you have the genocide going on . . . .”

To quote (with the same word-changes) from his most recent debate, “So you can say whatever you want, but they have millions of women going through the Nazis that are helped greatly.”

Can you imagine anyone making statements like these?

For all those who are offended by the comparison between the Nazis and Planned Parenthood and between genocide and abortion, please take a look at some abortion photos, consider the compelling evidence that Planned Parenthood traffics in aborted baby parts (despite a recent court ruling to the contrary), and remember that Planned Parenthood has covered up for men who sexually abused minors.

Note also that, according to the Heritage Foundation, “Despite a nearly 20 percent decline in the number of abortions in the country between 2000 and 2011, the number of abortions Planned Parenthood performed during that time increased from 197,070 to 333,964, thereby more than doubling its share of the abortion market from 15 percent in 2000 to 32 percent in 2011, the latest year for which national data are available.”

Put simply, can anyone who is in any true sense of the word pro-life praise the nation’s largest and most aggressive abortion provider, despite other services they perform?

To give another example, no one with a pro-life bone in their body would say, “Well, Dr. Kermit Gosnell helped a lot of women over the years, and we really appreciate that, but we’re upset that he killed living babies as well.”

No. They would excoriate Gosnell’s so-called “House of Horrors” and would say that it’s good he’s behind bars.

In the same way, it is absolutely ludicrous that Donald Trump would once more sing the praises of Planned Parenthood (with the exception of their abortion industry) at his Tuesday night, widely-televised, national press conference, despite all the innocent baby blood on their hands.

More absurd still, he called those who criticized him on this “so-called conservatives.”

What, Mr. Trump? Will you say that to the people who, as true moral conservatives, have sacrificially invested dozens of years of their lives to fight against Planned Parenthood? Would you say that they are “so-called conservatives” and you are the true conservative because you recognize all the good Planned Parenthood has done?

If women’s health care is an issue to you (and I believe it is), then let the government help out the countless thousands of non-Planned Parenthood healthcare clinics. These clinics massively outnumber the Planned Parenthood clinics and they do not have the blood of abortion on their hands.

For those who are still upset with me over the Nazi comparison (and I’m not claiming it is an exact parallel), let’s change the analogy for a moment.

Let’s say there’s a big hospital that has operated in your city for decades, saving thousands of lives over the years with its terrific healthcare programs. Unfortunately, it’s also infamous for euthanizing about one-third of its patients, both young and old, at the discretion of the doctors.

You would not say, “Hey, I would fund the hospital if not for all that euthanasia. You see, I’ve heard from thousands of people – I have letters from them – telling me about the great work they do. They’ve really helped a lot of people.”

Of course not.

You would say instead, “What a horror! That hospital needs to be shut down today and those doctors need to be charged with murder.”

So it is with Planned Parenthood, and if anyone needed proof that Donald Trump is still not a true pro-life candidate, his continued qualified praise of Planned Parenthood, coupled with the vilification of his conservative pro-life critics, says it all.

With the makeup of the Supreme Court hanging in the balance and with the absence of Justice Scalia already being felt, it is critical that we elect a true pro-life president.

Let’s do what we need to do while the options are still there.

I HAVE ALWAYS DEFENDED LIFE! I defend certain aspects of an organization which has done a world of good around the world for almost one hundred years. It seems by doing so I reap the wrath of those who wish to ignore that good.

You keep repeating yourself. Yet I still haven't seen a post in this thread where you actually described what you thought PP did that was good, or how in any way that 'good' even somewhat superposes the bad they do. Nothing about what 'good' they do, that isn't available elsewhere? You have one post mentioning 'patients' and number of visits, but that doesn't say anything about services. One abortion likely has several visits before the actual abortion. Several of those visits (from a couple people I know) are just to stop by and get their pill-pack for the month, which can easily be done at other places. You haven't refuted anything about their kiddie indoctrination, which involves the homosexual/pedophiliac stuff that wagglebee posted in post 66. When a woman comes into PP looking for a mammogram, PP refers her to another clinic, as PP doesn't do those. But I bet that counts as a 'patient'.

You wish to destroy the entire organization instead of simply demanding they be defunded if they continue abortions, which Donald Trump has suggested.

Yes, many do wish that, but that's not even what the main topic of discussion (usually) is. It's about getting rid of taxpayer funding for PP. If that is going to destroy their organization, then they need to find a better business model that doesn't depend on that money so much. The FedGov has no constitutional role in giving taxpayer money for this kind of thing (not just PP, but healthcare in general). The only place this argument even makes sense is on a state-level funding discussion. The only way you can really take this to a federal level isn't really one you'll like: the idea that the Constitution protects the life and liberty of all persons isn't usually even a level of discussion that we even get to. That's how far left the conversation has moved.

Tell me why you same people don’t demand the destruction of the United Nations en toto.

Actually, most of us fully support getting the US out of the UN, but that has nothing to do with the topic of this thread, which is why no one has mentioned it. Try clicking on any of these articles, and read through the comments. I doubt you'll see much, if any, support for the UN.

Oh, and just to preempt you here, while it may not be as strong/universal, there's plenty of people here who also want to drop NATO.

Will your children not have the COMMON SENSE to make up
their own minds about funding PP? Our children aren’t
little robots who grow up to think like we do.

I've never understood why any woman would entrust their health to an organization that wantonly murders children. The last thing PP cares about is health.

If PP went away tomorrow, the health of women wouldn't be affected, and it might actually improve.

Me Either, we totally agree.

PP aka Extension of the Joseph Mengele's Experiential Extermination camp. (there is no getting around that FACT) Mengele would be so proud to know his legacy lives on.

“It’s 9/11 every day...”

It’s worse than 9/11. Most of those who died on 9/11 were adults who had a chance to live their lives, get married, have children, and to hear the gospel and attain salvation. Their lives were cut short, but at least they had lives.

Those children we murder every day never even get to draw a breath, or feel the sun on their faces. Their lives are cut short before they truly begin.

I like NATO, but we should kick out Turkey and tell the other countries if they don’t pull their weight contributing troops, ships, planes, nukes, etc, then they don’t get a seat at the table when the decisions are made. If they want to scrap their navies and aircraft carriers, they can be “silent partners”, because they are essential U.S. protectorates at this point.

He knows exactly what PP is and what they do. No one as old as he is and who was so sexually immoral doesn’t know and if the hair on the back of my neck is correct along with my gut’s nauseous reaction, I would have to think that he knows about them first hand because he would make sure everything was done privately and covered with non-disclosure agreements or his intimidating lawyers that he loves so much would be unchained.

You do know that PP was founded by a eugenicist Margaret Sanger, right, who was praised by the Nazis. You do know that more African American babies are aborted than born in the home town of Mr DDT and abortion capital of the United United States?

http://www.blackgenocide.org/planned.html

“Margaret Sanger has been lauded by some as a woman of valor, but a closer look reveals that Planned Parenthood’s audacious founder had some unsavory things to say about matters of race, birth control, and abortion. An outspoken eugenicist herself, Sanger consistently promoted racist ideals with a contemptuous attitude.

Read on to learn why Planned Parenthood hides behind a false memory of Sanger, and why, despite her extraordinarily prolific writing career, one rarely sees her quoted by Planned Parenthood leaders and apologists.

“The most merciful thing that the large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it.”

Woman and the New Race, ch. 6: “The Wickedness of Creating Large Families.” Here, Sanger argues that, because the conditions of large families tend to involve poverty and illness, it is better for everyone involved if a child’s life is snuffed out before he or she has a chance to pose difficulties to its family.

“[We should] apply a stern and rigid policy of sterilization and segregation to that grade of population whose progeny is tainted, or whose inheritance is such that objectionable traits may be transmitted to offspring.”

“Plan for Peace” from Birth Control Review (April 1932, pp. 107-108)

Article 1. The purpose of the American Baby Code shall be to provide for a better distribution of babies… and to protect society against the propagation and increase of the unfit.
Article 4. No woman shall have the legal right to bear a child, and no man shall have the right to become a father, without a permit…
Article 6. No permit for parenthood shall be valid for more than one birth.

“America Needs a Code for Babies,” 27 Mar 1934

“Give dysgenic groups [people with “bad genes”] in our population their choice of segregation or [compulsory] sterilization.”

April 1932 Birth Control Review, pg. 108

“Birth control must lead ultimately to a cleaner race.”

Woman, Morality, and Birth Control. New York: New York Publishing Company, 1922. Page 12.

“We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.”

Margaret Sanger’s December 19, 1939 letter to Dr. Clarence Gamble, 255 Adams Street, Milton, Massachusetts. Also described in Linda Gordon’s Woman’s Body, Woman’s Right: A Social History of Birth Control in America. New York: Grossman Publishers, 1976.

“A woman’s duty: To look the whole world in the face with a go-to-hell look in the eyes… to speak and act in defiance of convention.”

The Woman Rebel, Volume I, Number 1

“[The most penetrating thinkers] are coming to see that a qualitative factor as opposed to a quantitative one is of primary importance in dealing with the great masses of humanity.”

Pivot of Civilization, 1922. Here, Margaret Sanger speaks on her eugenic philosophy – that only the types of “quality” people she and her peers viewed as worthy of life should be allowed to live.

“Such parents swell the pathetic ranks of the unemployed. Feeble-mindedness perpetuates itself from the ranks of those who are blandly indifferent to their racial responsibilities. And it is largely this type of humanity we are now drawing upon to populate our world for the generations to come. In this orgy of multiplying and replenishing the earth, this type is pari passu multiplying and perpetuating those direst evils in which we must, if civilization is to survive, extirpate by the very roots.”

The Need for Birth Control in America (quoted by Angela Franks.)

“Women of the working class [majority of DT supporters-huldah1776], especially wage workers, should not have more than two children at most. The average working man can support no more and and the average working woman can take care of no more in decent fashion.”
****

Children are blessings from God. We are created at conception. Life is a continual cycle, live sperm, live egg.

Trump’s plan is pretty simple.

1. Defund Planned Parenthood if it doesn’t stop doing abortions.

2. Fund Planned Parenthood if it DOES stop doing abortions, because funding pap smears, STD info, etc. is not funding any abortion

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

90 something percent of what PP does is abortion!! They know if all they did was pap smears and birth control they’d never stay in business. How do you think they make their money? They sell abortions, then they sell the body parts.

Me! Me! I can answer! Private doctors in private clinics. These doctors are usually “circuit riders” that go from clinic to clinic, from town to town doing abortions. They don’t have hospital admitting privileges so when there is a problems, and trust me there is, Dr Carhart et al, the woman gets dumped at the local ER for that doctor to clean up the abortionist mess.

2013 Planned Parenthood

2.7 MILLION Patients
4.6 MILLION Clinical Visits
10.6 MILLION Discrete services
328 THOUSAND Abortions.

It seems to me that there were a lot of useful services to women’s health FAR BEYOND the despicable Abortion practices which color everybody’s opinion. ALL or NOTHING is what you people are saying. You’re just a bunch of fanatics!

OMG!

You think that an organization that literallty murders 328,000 children a year should still receive taxpayer funding because of all the good things it does?

Are you insane?

Joseph Mengele's experiments on Jews actually yielded some important medical findings. I suppose that you would have supported Joseph Mengele's work since he "did a lot of good things" other than murdering jews?

You don't have to answer. If Donald Trump said that Joseph Mengele did a lot of good things, you'd be here defending him.

Poor people can get pap smears and STD info, etc., at any local free clinic. Almost every service that Planned Parenthood does is done free at local medical clinics all over the country and those clinics don't murder innocent children.

Funding anything planned parenthood does is insane. They are nothing but the biggest murder machine since Nazi Germany. No conditions. No funding. Period.

I question the thinking of people who would compare planned parenthood to Auschwitz because of ONE aspect of the organization.

Yeah at Auschwitz they not only murdered children but also adults.

I can't believe you weren't zotted for your posts on this thread. Hundreds of trolls have been zotted for a lot less. Planned Parenthood gets no quarter at Free Republic. At least in the past it didn't.

You wish to destroy the entire organization instead of simply demanding they be defunded if they continue abortions, which Donald Trump has suggested

“Suggested”. An interesting “choice” of words.

As for the “good” Planned Parenthood allegedly does, and yes, they do offer services like annual GYN visits and perform PAP smears and breast exams (but not mammograms FWIW), and tests for STD’s, and allegedly “pre-natal care”, which from what I understand includes testing and sonograms and counseling that often results in an abortion, most of their revenues come from abortion and birth control. But without abortion and abortion related services (sale of body parts?) PP wouldn’t and simply couldn’t exist.

And also note that they do not provide any treatments for cervical cancer or breast cancer, only provide basic screenings, and refer those patients elsewhere for follow up and actual treatment and only offer limited treatments for STD’s, comprised mostly with Rx’s for antibiotics or referrals for treatment elsewhere.

Of course these health services and screenings are available elsewhere, often at facilities that do not perform abortions and at low or no cost for the uninsured or poor and these “good” services that PP provides make up a very small percentage of their total revenues. Most of their revenue comes from abortion and birth control services, including so called emergency contraception like RU486 and permanent sterilizations – both for women and men.

Planned Parenthood is also a big promoter of homosexuality and the LGBT agenda and promoting sex education to children, and while I am not against teaching age appropriate, biological and scientific sex and non-agenda driven sex education with parental permission and input, PP promotes books for educators and schools like “My Gender Workbook: How to Become a Real Man, a Real Woman, the Real You, or Something Else Entirely” and “Guide To Getting It On”. I would hope you don’t count those among the “good” things PP does.

Donald Trump is using Planned Parenthood’s talking points! Trump repeats their lies and exaggerations!

Planned Parenthood doesn’t even have equipment to do mammograms.

I wrote a very tough letter to the editor exposing Planned Parenthood, and while I don’t know if it was because of my letter, right after that they came out with an ad in the same paper saying other things they do, NOT MENTIONING abortions.

Students for Life tweeted to Trump that NO AMOUNT of screenings, or whatever, justify the abortions!!!!

PP performed over 333,000 abortions in one year alone.

There are community health care centers that do screenings, etc., and they don’t do abortions! They also get no govt. MONEY! So why does PP?

Does Trump know this stuff?
