From my perspective, a negative replacement rate does not automatically necessitate immigration for immigration's sake.
One first might naturally determine the causes of negative growth and do something about that, like removing the crippling taxes on working people, preserve personal freedoms and privacy, and stop giving money to no-goods that become baby factories just for the government check. That's where I'd look for solutions first.
I understand the legitimate reasons for allowing immigrants under a lot of circumstances. My wife was an immigrant when I brought her here in 1976. I had to sign a sworn affidavit that she’d never become a public burden. To my knowledge that is not done now, nor are the screenings for all sorts of horrible diseases done.
If you ever have actually been to a Social Security Office to do business, you’d likely have seen examples of what I’m talking about as far as ‘contributors’. I knew an extended family of Sri Lankans who owned a convenience store. Over the 25 years I knew them, they cycled ‘relatives’ through their store as paid W-2 employees just long enough to qualify for the number of required quarters of Social Security. After that, they went off books.

Thanks for the article. The flight school owner has an Arabic name, too. I guess that doesn’t mean anything, but he still wants the guy in his school despite his threat. Our government is infinitesimally stupid. Apple can continue to tell them to pack sand. You can’t fight terrorism by attacking phones.
We didn't make it obvious at all. We went out to my car, acted like we were getting something in the trunk while my wife watched over my shoulder acting like she was talking to me. Then we merely went in and checked under the table like we were looking for something we'd lost earlier. Did undercover work for years including enclosed quarters. If you have a woman with you, don't make eye contact with the target and let the less threatening person do the surveillance discreetly; female preferably if available. But never make eye contact or it's over and you have to burn the surveillance.
That is exactly how I feel whenever they come after our privacy and freedom in the name of stopping terrorism. They have the borders wide open for terrorists and WMD to cross and have to debate about when to send a known Egyptian jihadist back to Egypt.
Kick his Muslim ass all the way to Cairo!
