Watch Out for MN

Keep your eyes on MN. The Twitterverse of GOPe is desperate for ANY Rubes win and he was polling very well there.

If Rubes wins MN, that will be the ENTIRE news cycle. Seriously, they are saying he has caught fire, and will now really come on.

sigh.

He was referring to candidates who after tonight would have no wins and an isignificant amount of delegates

No he wasn't. He specifically said that he was the ONLY one to win besides Trump. By the way, congrats to him for winning TX and OK. My only qualm is that he came out before the night was over and claimed he was the ONLY candidate to have beaten Trump. He spoke too soon.

Isn’t MN the only state Reagan lost in 84?

Trump still got 3rd place, 21%.

In some of those other primaries, 3rd place in the 20s was a sort of victory.

And Clinton got crushed; that’s one good thing, I’d hate seeing Sanders as President but probably would hate seeing HRC in there twice as much.

Minnesota is basically Canada with weak beer.

Of course Rubio would win there.

When he ran against Mondale, who is from Minnesota.

Minnesota will vote for the DFL endorsed candidate. The only way my Republican vote for president would count is if all 50 States vote Republican. At which point it still doesn’t really matter who I vote for. As a Minnesota Republican the rest of the ballot is very important. Republicans hold the House and I hope we can keep it. Trump won’t help with that.

I think the reason Rubio came up here is he understood that the only way to stop Trump is to keep him from getting 1237 delegates before Cleveland. The Minnesota delegates who came out specifically to vote for Rubio might have stayed home if he hadn’t come here. Trump might have earned more delegates if Rubio hadn’t done such a good job campaigning here. Turnout was huge in the exurbs, and that is Chamber territory.

I think at this point it’s all about getting to the convention with no one getting 1237 delegates. It should be an interesting convention, and there is no telling who would come out on top.

The Hmong will split (a lot of small business owners). We have very few Syrians and most of those are Christian. I think they split between Christian Right and ethnic DFL. Somalis will go mostly DFL.

Would you be upset if Trump made a deal to give MN to Canada in exchange for Alberta?

Interesting question, I’ll need to think about that one. Do we get to keep 3M, The Carlson Companies, Best Buy, the Mayo Clinic, Cargill and Medtronic? Do we get to keep state wide open school enrollment? Alberta can have the Vikings but we get to keep the Twins and the Wild.

Hmmm, Clinton, Trump, or Trudeau. Ghhhhaaa I don’t like any of them. :)

Minnesota keeps up it’s oddball electoral history, Franken, Ventura and now Rubio.

Hey, at times, Ventura is a libertarian. Overall, negatives heavily outweigh the good but maybe a few slivers of decency once in awhile.

Article at gateway pundit on a caucus that only spoke Somali last night, Franken won Minnesota because of Democrats like that, that’s crap.

Though at the same time, it seems Minnesota has enough of a white majority not to elect dimwits like Franken.

I think census figures show, Minnesota is still 86% white or something. Iowa is over 90%, Wisconsin is way up there too.

This is what immigration can do though, wreck voting.

They moved thier “head quarters” to Ireland in a merger. The move was all about taxes and nothing substantial has changed in the process. Those buildings fill up with employees every weekday morning. I live within 5 miles of four of their buildings. They are still a big employer here.

It’s a great company with very high paying jobs for skilled workers of all sorts. Minnesota has several large medical devices companies, Medtronic is the jewel in the crown.
