Al Franken was not elected by a few Somali precincts. He was elected because two years before he ran he estabished residency and hosted fundraisers for a bunch of DFL Legislative candidates.
He also was elected because far too many people are all excited about celebrity candidates. Oooooo I know him from TV, I must vote for him. People who normally don’t vote joined the fan club and voted for him. Just like Ventura. I think that is why Republicans in Minnesota were willing to stand in line for hours to vote against Trump. We’ve seen what happens when fanboys get their way and elect their favorite celeb. We’ve been there, it ain’t pretty.
The results of Coleman/Franken though were very close. We know how that went. So, perhaps just a small amount of votes separated the two. This can be accounted for by a few reasons including as they say, maybe felons voting and so on. I personally don’t say that but I do definitely say the results were extremely close for whatever made the difference.
If it’s the one on the north loop I live near you (I think that is the largest of them)..
My wife used one of their insulin pumps but now that shes on medicare they won’t pay for it..
The one on 694 is the former world headquarters (before the Ireland move), several blocks north on Central is the old world headquarters, just off 10 in Blaine is one of their newer campuses and I do believe it is the largest in the area. The neuro research is south of 694 and is quite small.
It’s too bad the DFL destroyed MinCare it was acctually a good program and would have been available for Medicare patients with a coverage gap. But no, we had to drop our unique Minnesota solution to adopt Obama’s one size fits all plan and MNSure is a complete disaster.
Oh I know.. my wife is on mediscare...
I am a ways north of the Medtronics buildings on 694 and central.
I hate the cities so every 5 years or so as the liberals flee their own mess and move to the outer outer rings I have to pack up and move further north.
I fully understand. I have lived here for 35 years and watched the inexorable left switch close up. With the exception of Senator Pam Wolf I have always been represented by people far to my left...Ellison, Alice Johnson, Bernardy, Betzold and now Goodwin. It is possible that several DFL candidates will be running unopposed this year. I’m sure there are many Republicans here who will have no reason to vote in 2016.
And i have been let down by emmer.
I’m a big Rhonda Sivarajah supporter so I probably shouldn’t comment on Emmer, but I was so mad at him for the hit job he did on our Republican Freshman State Senators in 2012 I could scream. I’m not surprised he’s been a disappointment.
Selfishly, as an Anoka County resident I’m glad to have Rhonda for a few more years as commissioner.
I am in anoka county to.
