Running scared from a debate hosted by Megyn Kelly in Iowa, Donald Trump instead hosted an Iowa event to, according to his campaign, "raise money for the Veterans and Wounded Warriors, who have been treated so horribly by our all talk, no action politicians." The $6 million raised went, curiously, straight to Donald Trump's campaign website -- an odd way to fundraise. That money, equally curiously, has yet to find its way to veterans' groups.
When Donald Trump demanded a $5 million ransom from CNN to appear in their December debate, he also used veterans as a foil. Trump claimed he would donate proceeds to wounded warriors. His interest in veterans is sudden. Forbes reported that of the $5.5 million the Donald J. Trump Foundation gave to charity, "only $57,000 has been donated to seven organizations that directly benefit military veterans or their families."
That's the rough equivalent of a Ford Expedition. It's a weak showing for a billionaire who claims to be the champion of America's service members.
The fact is, Trump hasn't done a damn thing for veterans. America's veterans aren't dopes. Most recognize a cheap political stunt when they see it. Debates scare Trump silly. So he wears veterans' service like Kevlar, hoping the nobility of their sacrifice can shield him from the hostility of tough questions. It's not unexpected behavior from a man who, to judge from his multiple draft deferments, has proven more than happy to let others do the fighting for him.
The fact is, Trump hasn't done a damn thing for veterans. But put that aside for a moment.

That’s a lie because I watched Trump give a $100,000 check on stage to an Iowa Vet group at one of his rallies. Its all lies folks.
This was reported on 4 days ago. John Noonan released a trivially-disprovable Trump hitpiece during a major polling day [March 1, 2016 1:00 PM], 4 days AFTER its premise was disproven.
It's out-and-out "yellow journalism". So, yes - if it's left up, it will be left up for as "an example of how low some "conservatives" will go to support their choice, and smear other candidates".
Let people read through all the posts/articles and decide.
I'm sure that some people are fascinated by poking around in full septic tanks, too.
Noonan and his National Yellow e-Spew employers should be relegated to the status of Alex Jones on this website.
See posts #32 and #55.
Well your posts and others refuting it are part of the septic tank swirl...according to you.
Why can’t the arguments be presented, bogus or not, and it gets hashed out like everything else regarding this election?
Maybe some truth will seep out of the tank. I’m interested in your arguments and those on the other side.
Yeah, I heard that about the vet money. More smears and lies form Cruzbio. Sad.
So that is it, a one million donation in 1983 and some odd here and there donations by his agency. Ohh, don't forget the one time check of 25k.
33 years and lets say Trump gave 1,250,000 over that time. That is nearly 38k a year. This is not taking into account that some of the money was donated by others. Also not taking into account that 1 million back then was not adjusted for inflation since I am not doing compound interest in the next column.
5% interest on 5 billion is 250 million. Again, no compound interest, which Einstein said was one of the most marvelous things he ever saw.
As a matter of fact I heard an interesting tidbit the other day, if Trump never entered business at all and took that 40million he got from his dad back in 1973 and put it in diversified stock market account rolling back into his account each year he would be worth about the same as what he reports he is worth today. Perhaps more.

but Jeff that has nothing to do with helping vets, they talked about him being a leader that would answer calls for security. The math of $57G of 5 Million in donations, says vets ain’t a high priority.... the actions speak a lot louder than words for me.
ymmv
well your lying posts don’t get pulled so turn about is fair play...

Trump donated one million dollars to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial project in NYC years ago & the head of that project said they could not have done it without Trump’s support. Educate yourself before you bloviate.
Sorry to hear about your reading disability.
So, I’ll put you down for “you want it left up as example of how low some “conservatives” will go to support their choice, and smear other candidates”.
Can you believe how low some conservatives will go to support their choice, and smear other candidates?
Be sure to inspect the election results from tonight - carefully. :)
Repeating the “$57,000” lie, I see.
Wow, a donation over 30 years ago... That shows a lot of dedication to the cause.
From you post’s I should have figured you were a low grade moron, thanks for confirming it.
Trump gave $25,000 to the Marine sergeant who was imprisoned in Mexico - Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi, just a few years ago, to help him get back on his feet after he got back.
Many Cruz supporters have enough class not to defend this sort of vile yellow journalism.
You'll dry up and blow away after your Canadian gets his drubbing tonight. :)
That's nice, but let's be honest - that is like you or I giving the guy on the street corner $5 to get a meal at McDonald's. And it was a nice, high-profile gesture to get Trump some public attention and approval.
