Running scared from a debate hosted by Megyn Kelly in Iowa, Donald Trump instead hosted an Iowa event to, according to his campaign, "raise money for the Veterans and Wounded Warriors, who have been treated so horribly by our all talk, no action politicians." The $6 million raised went, curiously, straight to Donald Trump's campaign website -- an odd way to fundraise. That money, equally curiously, has yet to find its way to veterans' groups.
When Donald Trump demanded a $5 million ransom from CNN to appear in their December debate, he also used veterans as a foil. Trump claimed he would donate proceeds to wounded warriors. His interest in veterans is sudden. Forbes reported that of the $5.5 million the Donald J. Trump Foundation gave to charity, "only $57,000 has been donated to seven organizations that directly benefit military veterans or their families."
That's the rough equivalent of a Ford Expedition. It's a weak showing for a billionaire who claims to be the champion of America's service members.
The fact is, Trump hasn't done a damn thing for veterans. America's veterans aren't dopes. Most recognize a cheap political stunt when they see it. Debates scare Trump silly. So he wears veterans' service like Kevlar, hoping the nobility of their sacrifice can shield him from the hostility of tough questions. It's not unexpected behavior from a man who, to judge from his multiple draft deferments, has proven more than happy to let others do the fighting for him.
The fact is, Trump hasn't done a damn thing for veterans. But put that aside for a moment.

Ditto all that!!!
Honest men avoid your kind.
The scummery is UNBELIEVABLE.
I see.
Calling out yellow journalism is insulting to you, is it?
Figures. :)
I’m sure it is.........
You did notice the 57k was for a certain number of years which did not include the 25k year.
Duncan Hunter Jr spent forever fighting to get that Marine out of Mexico applying pressure where he could over and over in congress yet not one Trump fan even notices his efforts. I did because I was a member of Hunters FB page where almost weekly he wrote about the Marine. I know Trump is a busy person, but I also know who really gave of themselves.
I don’t consider asking questions about where donated money for Veterans goes “Yellow Journalism”
Pulls the string again
But when the question is honestly answered, the answers are ignored.
How can you defend that behavior?
Its now September, which means Tahmooressi will have spent six months in a Mexican prison by months end essentially for missing his exit on Interstate 5. His case has gained increasing attention and outrage among the American people, as Congressmen Duncan Hunter of California and Ted Poe of Texas have proposed legislation aimed at securing his release and twenty state legislators from California hand-delivered a letter in August to Enrique Pena Nieto, Mexico's president, demanding his release when Nieto visited Sacramento to meet with Governor Jerry Brown. Tahmooressis cause has also been taken up by Ted Cruz, Rick Perry
Hopefully, you two will become stars over on this thread. :)
You must be stuck on stupid. My very first post on this thread before you responded said I believed that the group would dole out the money, that it takes a little time to do it.
Here is my exact words.
Do I personally thing Trump will dole out the money as promised? Yes, these things take time. National Review is sorta jumping the gun IMHO.
The part of the article that talks about Trump's previous donations is what I have talked about.
Pull string again
>let’s be honest - that is like you or I giving the guy on the street corner $5 to get a meal at McDonald’s.
Yes, let us be honest. You start. Are you so envious of Trump’s wealth that it blinds you so that you fail to see his good will at all? How much has your chosen candidate donated to Veteran’s causes? What you stated above reveals you to be overly envious of those who have endeavored to build wealth. What he does with his wealth is of no concern of mine. I watched him raise $6 Mil for Vets in a single night.
Trump's "charity" is so minimal as to be almost non-existent - based on public records available, his charitable giving amounts to about .0013%. Now it certainly is his right to give or not give as he sees fit - it is his money. But when he goes about making a huge deal about how much he cares about the veterans and how generous he is, and he makes it an issue in the campaign as a reason to support him, I think it is perfectly valid to point out the facts...
You might become a STAR on this thread:

Gee, your thread got pulled and I was so looking forward to being a Star.
Chortle -— Pulls string again
If 110% of the charities had gotten their donations, they'd be wondering where Trump "stole" the overpaid money...
It's not the same thing as being pulled for a bad reason. :)
