....or the majority of so call ‘conservatives’ currently on congress that promised us they’d fight for us. The attacks on Trump over the past month have exceeded all of the attacks on democrats from elected and media ‘conservatives’ over the past 20 years. That should tell you everything that you need to know.

during a long stream of semi-consciousness in Fort Worth

No matter what one thinks of George Will, that phrase is a work of art.

“OMG! The National Review has published an article by a self important Inside the Beltway, out of touch, imperious, gasbag that’s critical of Donald Trump. Oh no...I guess I can’t vote for him now!”

All that being true, was Will accurate or not? If Trump gets in, boy are you going to get what you deserve. The problem is that the rest of us will get it too.

If you are intelligent you will see that Trump is definitely not a buffoon. I’m sorry to say that, but he is not a buffoon. He knows what he is doing. When I see people here or elsewhere saying he is a clown or buffoon, it is medical evidence that they aren’t understanding the situation, like the people who have thought Obama’s policies prove his incompetence. Deep down, Obama is an ineffectual, incompetent person in life, but his policies have been planned and serve a higher purpose. He MEANS to fundamentally transform this country, to break it down, to give our enemies a gift.

Next, if an article come up and I see it’s written by NR against Trump, there is no point in reading it. They don’t connect to truth at all. They cling to their once-assumed popularity for being at the conservative edge of media while still pushing the establishment pap down readers’ throats.

Excuse me but how can that be true when the latest polls shows him with favorability of 64% and a negative of 27%? Could you be using old data? The more Trump wins State contest & endorsements like Sessions, Christy, ? Newt, etc. the more his numbers will rise.

“Winning has made Trump more popular. 64% of Republicans in Florida now have a favorable opinion of him to only 27% with a negative one. That actually puts him ahead of Rubio’s 60/28 standing. The most broadly popular Republican for what little it’s worth is Carson at 65/18. Kasich’s at 53/22, and for the second state in a row we find Cruz under water at 39/48. We found that he had slipped into negative territory on our final South Carolina poll as well.”

“I support Trump to spite people like George Will.”

What a terrific and thoughtful way to decide the fate of the nation.

Why are Republicans trying to pick losing horses? They need to realize Trump is going to win and get behind him.
The other candidates will not win so why bet on losing horses?

“Trump is the only effective advocate”

The problem is what he is advocating.

--------

If Free trade and open borders worked the people would not be revolting against these policies the GOP advocated. The free traders have themselves to blame.

Oh yes...and Hillary is Snow White, the Good Witch from DC Land who only cuddles and protects the lost lonely sheeple of America in her warm nurturing bosom. Offering them her mothers milk of kindness and forgiveness and protecting them from the evil nasty Alpha Male Wolf Trump, who will shred and devour them.

I stopped reading George Will’s columns ten years ago when I figured him out for what he is: a pretend conservative, a sacrificial lamb to the altar of leftist totalitarianism.

Ask yourself this....will a Trump presidency be better than the passed 7 plus years of the Obama presidency?

Not even close. Heck, Ross Perot would have been better than the last 7 years.

In a serious vein, Trump is my #2 pick after Cruz. While I think Cruz is the best thing since sliced bread, far better than Trump...

Trump is completely firm on national sovereignty. And that is the #1 issue. He isn't solid on a lot of things (hence my preference for Cruz) but on the border and on issues having to do with putting America first, he is clear. So I will happily vote for him if he is the nominee (and its pretty clear he will be).

As an aside, while I think any Repub can beat Hillary or Bernie this year, if its Trump it is going to be a landslide. Dems won't cross over for Cruz, for example, the ones who can't stomach Hillary will sit home. But I already see signs that a lot of Dems are for Trump. I am actually optimistic that we are going to be smiling come November.

I think many people seem to forget that Congress has a lot to do with what happens in the federal government. Perhaps were so accustomed to Obama's executive orders that we think a president can decree his policies in a signed statement. But it's really not true, and I don't think a Trump presidency will be anywhere near as disastrous as the naysayers are predicting.

While he's not my primary choice, I actually think a Trump administration could be instructive; and it most definitely won't be as destructive as the last eight years have been.

Of course, once the primary season is over, and it comes down to either Trump or Hillary, the panic about Trump will calm down.

“You don’t like Trump? Get rid of the GOP establishment that caused him to succeed, otherwise you and others are part of the problem. “

Do you think the GOPe likes Cruz? The establishment needed a lesson, yes, but Trump is leading a circular firing squad.

So true. If the GOP had fought the Dems as hard as they fight the Tea Party the country would not be screwed up.
