Brutal. The Santa Ana freeway was closed in both directions today at Washington near the Citadel Outlet Center, because a Charger and a Challenger were racing. One car lost control, hit the truck and then the truck hit four other cars. A group of teenagers returning from Disneyland were smashed. Motorists had to look for options: Long Beach freeway, the Century freeway and Imperial Highway. Sketchy area. Be safe. I’m glad I did not get stuck in the jam today.
Surviving drivers should be charged with criminal homicide, reckless endangerment, risking a catastrophe, etc, etc.
I think it will be vehicular manslaughter.
Never fear, the dead will still vote democratic in the next 15 presidential elections, maybe twice each.
Mexicans. I figured before I clicked on the link. They had no hand in creating the civilization, so it means nothing to them to flaunt the law. When I see a kid in a nice car burning out his wheels in neutral, I know daddy paid for his car. They honestly don’t think about the future, or even 5 seconds ahead. Only the moment.
Dr Jeff
Good find; that investigative journalist captured the info before it was taken down..
36 years old and acting like a pubescent teenager.
Went to KTLA page.
Good grief ! The number of accidents, appears most caused by speeding, reckless driving.
Glad I live 2500 miles away.
Sad story, really - I think the UPS driver was 30+ years with the company. Lot of lives ruined.....forever.
Great Find! Do you know her?
I do not - no idea show she is. Link was in the comments section from the LAT or KTLA.
I was involved in a very bad wreck just north of La Jolla, CA one sunny weekday, afternoon years ago. Not a car on the road (it seemed) except me and my honey. We were driving an SUV and out of nowhere a speeding car was right behind us, within seconds he was next to us as the his vehicle began slamming back and forth into our SUV.
Pushed to the left (we were in the fast lane), we rode the medium with our left tires (our right side of the vehicle tilted towards the road). Eventually our car spun (nearly rolling but didn't) around to face--7 lanes I believe--vehicles coming right at us. (So much for feeling all alone on the freeway in S.CA!) The other racing vehicle, that had hit us, was long gone.
All the cars avoided us as they swerved to the slow lanes (almost as if there was no problem that was in front of them). But many called the cops, who caught what was a drug dealing, person from south of the border both high and racing his vehicle with his buddy.
There is a lot of racing (as many of us have seen) on the freeways in southern California. More then there should be. Very sad. To this day I battle intense pain in my lower right sacral area from the accident. But manage it like one does anything chronic. But this particular incident you posted about it so very, very sad (given the injury, loss of life), and concerning.
“The UPS driver killed was 52 year old Scott Treadway of Mira Loma, California. Scott had worked for the UPS for 30 years. Scott had lost his wife recently and was working a night shift in order to take care of his ailing mother during the daytime per his truck driver friends.”
"Dealio Lockhart's mother is Vanessa Lockhart a school teacher in Detroit, Michigan. His father is Dean Lockhart who was a truck driver until he became ill in 2015. Dealio has a sister named Breanna. They're all educated, talented, successful people. As Dealio confessed to racing he basically pled guilty to vehicular manslaughter."
I hope he spends the rest of this life in jail. But of course he will not.
All this is so sad. So many lives ended or tortured because of these two perps.
I’m looking forward to some big rewards offered this week.
It especially bothers me because like poor Treadway I help take care of elderly parents. And now he is gone.
