Does that not interfere with perception and does it take long to get used to that kind of procedure?

If it bothers you, you can always wear glasses to correct them both to the same distance. You're just a little myopic in one eye is all it amounts to.

You're original lens is able to change shape to change focal distance when you're young, which is why you can see far and near. As you get older the lens hardens and you lose that ability anyway.
