When we were kids, we would tease each other about having “cooties,” but no one was actually infested with lice. Thanks to open borders, “cooties” are no longer imaginary.
Head lice or.......?

Who ya kidding? I had the pleasure of teaching 33 years in the inner city ....and when I walked around to help individual students working at their tables ..... I could see massive lice hop from corn row to corn row, while the kids’ heads were turned down. And these weren’t Latino kids.
Louse are not race specific.
Talking about the influx
I caught lice twice as a child. The first time, from an animal (my entire family was contaminated. It was a nightmare)
The second time it was the normal lice from school.
My mother coated my head with mayo before bed. Shower cap. Then the nitpicking for an hour every morning - followed by a wash to get out the mayo. Repeat every damn night for a freaking month.
Frustrating for everyone.

Heard someone ask me “is it theft if I snitch $10 from my roomie from Africa and take their bedding and clothes to a local coin laundry so they actually wash their (censored) at all?”
Struggled with the morals of that but I decided if it was what they had to do to not worry about losing all their dorm furniture to a bedbug infestation or getting REinfested with lice, that it was no worse than a judge ordering a habitual drunkard to attend AA and pay for it out of his own pocket.
Remember - Don’t loan your comb to anybody.
Bring back DDT!
Several years ago kids at school came down with head lice, so the teachers sent notes for everyone to get lice killing shampoo.
I had some real powerful DR So-and-So’s pine tar shampoo for dandruff and used it. It was so pine tary I had to use dish washing soap to get it out of my hair. It worked!
A few months later I was in a drug store, went down the VET isle, and saw this bottle. DR So-And-So’s Pine Tar Shampoo for DOG MANGE.
Same brand, same name, same amount of pine tar, same bottle.
Sounds like a recipe for Italian dressing :-)
