An 8-year-old boy said he helped his mother's boyfriend grow "special medicine that can cure anything at all," The Times-Argus reports

A second-grader's story about helping a farmer grow "special medicine" plants led to the bust of an indoor marijuana growing operation in Vermont, authorities said.

According to an affidavit, an 8-year-old boy told school officials and Windsor police detective Jennifer Frank that he helped his mother's boyfriend, 54-year-old Steven Mann, grow "special medicine that can cure anything at all," The Times-Argus reports.

So this mother makes her child an unpaid laborer

I made my kids do all sorts of unpaid labor - wash dishes, vacuum, walk the dog, etc. Should the government have prevented that?

No, those are all normal, beneficial things.

First of all, you are the parent. This man was not the child's parent. Secondly, you are engaging your children in the production of illegal drugs. Do you really think walking the dog and doing dishes is comparable to marijuana cultivation?

Make up your mind - did the mother make her child an unpaid laborer or did she not?

Secondly, you are engaging your children in the production of illegal drugs.

A plant, which is recreationally legal in 4 states and medicinally legal in 22.

And you’d be the first to scream “where were the police” if something happened to the kid. You’d also blame the teacher for ignoring what the child said.
