Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump secured support from a questionable source on Wednesday: white supremacist and former Klu Klux Klan Grand Wizard David Duke.
According to BuzzFeed, Duke explained why his listeners should back Trump on his radio show.
"Voting for these people, voting against Donald Trump at this point is really treason to your heritage," he reportedly said in reference to Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz on the "David Duke Radio Program."
While Duke stopped short of an outright endorsement, the racial animus was clear from his Trump pitch (emphasis ours):
I'm not saying I endorse everything about Trump, in fact I haven't formally endorsed him. But I do support his candidacy, and I support voting for him as a strategic action. I hope he does everything we hope he will do.
Duke encouraged his listeners to "get off their duff," and go volunteer for Trump's campaign.
Duke has supported Trump for months, telling Politico in December that, "he's meant a lot for the human rights of European-Americans."

Riiight! And that is just as likely as the fantasy that the Democrats hired Glenn Beck to endorse Cruz. It's hilarious when that pointy shoe is on the other foot. How does it feel?

That was my point. Beck is unhinged over it, too. Poor ol Cruz has to let that mouthy misfit onstage with him. It’s a sad sight. I really like Cruz, but he is unelectable; so I am on the Trump horse for the win.

We still have free speech in this country. Mr. Duke can endorse whoever he pleases.
Anyone who chooses a candidate to support solely because of what David Duke says or does not say is an idiot.

While Trump may not be a part of this, he gets a pass, and no one is making any stink about it. Meanwhile, Cruz is getting dumped all over for his SuperPacs robocalls, which aren’t anything nasty like this one. I loathe this double standard when it’s Dems vs. Reps, but when it’s Reps vs. Reps that have the double standard, it’s despicable.

I haven’t picked a candidate yet...I continue to watch and evaluate...actually not real happy with any of them.
