This game sounds vaguely of a paper back Si-Fi novel read back in the 1970's The reality was only virtual but on several levels. The level beneath the present (US) was slowly coming to terms with the reality ...and thus, WE, on the next level up came to the same reality. For the life of me no remembrance of the title or even the author of that book. A Baroq piece price to any who might have a clue.

Take my love, take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don’t care, I’m still free
You can’t take the sky from me.

I’ve thought that we humans are just a bit of entertainment for the gods. They throw us a little challenge every so often and they sit back and enjoy the show.

Sounds like the movie ‘The Thirteenth Floor”.

Not a response to your question but I'd have to observe that I think we're beginning to resemble the MATRIX series in many scary ways.... And they did present a very valid reason of why CHICKEN tastes like so many exotic foods....

The video game sounds infinitely replayable if there is any action of interest in it. But if it’s just a travelogue of rocky planets with low graphic, no thanks.

It’s a full-on simulator. Every planet is explorable and besides some creative liberties taken with orbital physics of moons and sky color, it’s 100% true-to-form. It’s def. generating a LOT of buzz among gamers.

Sounds essentially like the VR world from Ready Player One. Just add in some RPG, violence, and $$.

I actually have viewed the world as a form of the matrix or a video game for some time now, but.from a Christian perspective. This is not the real world. Eternity is. We are merely inserted into this one for a brief time. And this “reality” will, itself, be “switched off”. It is, after all, virtually all empty space. We only percieve it to be real.

It’s a procedurally-generated world. There’s no RPG role in it, and I’ve not seen anything indicating a combat system or economy.
