Who should I vote for?

Posted on 02/23/2016 7:10:02 AM PST by 2nd Amendment

I've got a dilemna here. I've been a Cruz supporter for several years. I feel firmly that Trump is a disaster waiting to happen. Is Rubio a better antitrump candidate than Cruz? Should I shift my primary vote March 1 in GA. to Rubio because he has a better chance of defeating Cruz. I believe Cruz is a good christian conservative and Rubio is a younger Reagan. Which one should I vote for?

If you can’t decide what to do about a rabbit in your garden you shouldn’t be allowed to vote. I rest my case. LOL!

Don’t be too hard on her. She has trouble with linear, reasoned argument.

No one cares. You live in GA its going for Trump big time so vote for Howdy Doody for all we care. Just STFU about it.

Damn, woman! That is brutal, it sounds like something I'd say. Kick a man in the groin and then stomp on him, that's the Ray Charles way:)

One example of a conservative stance “debunks” nothing. Trump also favors an assault style weapons ban. Does that “debunk” your point, no, but it gives one pause.

My premise is valid. Trump’s positions on a host of issues over the last 2 decades have been demonstrably liberal leaning.

I am in Florida. Only reason I would change from Cruz would be if Rubio was very close to Trump in the polls on 3/15 and I have thought about that. Otherwise vote your heart. Too many games going on now about electability.

Calling Trump a "train wreck" is a BS political meme by the donor class.

The donor class despises anyone they think they cannot buy. We really need to change the rules on political funding. Require all donations to be anonymous. You can't sell influence if you don't know who's buying.

Our people should be allowed to fund any candidate or party they choose in any amount they please; that's FREEDOM. But it should be nearly impossible to attach a quid pro quo to a donation, since that is BRIBERY.

The Trump mania has me baffled, however.

The insiders have done us so poorly lately that an outsider appears preferable. Trump is the first real outsider in a long, long time.

I feel the same away about Trump, a disaster waiting to happen. To those who love the way he talks of deporting millions of people, well, he also said he will bring back the good ones. Voting for a guy who gave money to the corrupt clintons and who sounds a little too much like a liberal at times, not for me. If he ever gets into the white house, he’ll be too busy keeping score as to who said anything against him to run the country.

So you’re going to vote for the guy who donated to hillary’s campaign. And Trump calls himself a conservative?

We’ll all be voting for VP Robot in November as the GOP-mandated bail-in behind President Trump ... so it can wait until then.

With Trump, Rubio, and Cruz in the race until the end, we're likely to get a brokered convention with superdelegates making the final call. If Trump has a plurality, he'll need to make some concession to the establishment for their support, which may very well mean picking Wind-Up Toy Rubio as VP. Even without a brokered convention, he may do it in order to win over pro-establishment voters in the general election, kind of like Reagan's concession to the Rockefeller Republican wing of the party when he picked George H.W. Bush as his running mate.

Trader Rob, I am not trying to mess with your belief system but Trump is actually more conservative than not.

His assault weapons comment was in his 2000 book and with increasing violence at schools he has rescinded the minor restrictions he once suggested in that book.

"Donald Trump said Tuesday he supports allowing Americans to legally buy and own assault weapons."

"You have to be because the bad guys are going to have them anyway," Trump told CNN's Chris Cuomo on "New Day." "What happens when the bad guys have the assault weapons and you don't in a confrontation?"

Trump suggested overturning gun-free zones and said civilians with guns could have stopped the mass shooting at a community college last week in Oregon.

His position on Abortion has evolved in a natural manner not in a political manuever, since 1999 from a woman's right to choose, to ban partial birth abortions in 2000, to abortions are wrong several years later after a friend decided not to abort and the child was the joy of his life.

His position on Planned Parenthood itself also changed. He believed the oft repeated lie that a large portion of their work is related to other aspects of woman's health so he supported them on the basis of woman's health outreach. After he saw the videos there was a dramatic change and he stated that PP should be immediately defunded except for the women's care portion and if possible that aid should be rerouted to other facilities. As it became obvious how little woman's health they service and the other available fascilities he is solidly for defunding PP. Trump is in favor of exceptions to an abortion only in the first few weeks for rape etc.

This past week, for the first time, Trump has specifically promised he would sign a bill as president to de-fund Planned Parenthood .

Trump has repeatedly indicated he opposes Planned Parenthood funding but has always stopped short of committing to sign legislation to stop the flow of taxpayer funds to the nation's biggest abortion business.

Many would like to overturn Rose/Wade and have abortions outlawed. I think that if we were able to defund PP and limit abortions to the first 12-14 weeks we would save many lives and start pushing back on the devaluation of life that has developed in our Nation. Incremental is possible, outlawing all abortions is not and the opposition that would arise from pushing a stronger prolife agenda might make it impossible to accomplish this fist and significant step.

This then is another liberal position debunked, I think two is enough for now.

Rubio IS ALOT like Reagan, after all Reagan gave amnesty to all of the illegals that were here and DID NOT secure the border!! I partially blame Reagan for what we have now, he opened the flood gates!!! I loved Reagan but this was a HUGE mistake!!!

Has nothing to do with my “belief system”. I am stating documented facts.

He has clearly stated with no equivocations that he is in favor of an assult weapons ban.

He has also argued for increased waiting period to buy guns.

He states that he disagrees with people who “walk the NRA line”.

Well bro, I am one of those who “walks the NRA line”
