Who should I vote for?

Posted on 02/23/2016 7:10:02 AM PST by 2nd Amendment

I've got a dilemna here. I've been a Cruz supporter for several years. I feel firmly that Trump is a disaster waiting to happen. Is Rubio a better antitrump candidate than Cruz? Should I shift my primary vote March 1 in GA. to Rubio because he has a better chance of defeating Cruz. I believe Cruz is a good christian conservative and Rubio is a younger Reagan. Which one should I vote for?

Atta boy, democRAT enabler. Edmond Burke was correct when he said: “All that’s needed for evil to triumph is that good men do nothing.”

You remind me of the guy sitting on the roof of his house, surrounded by a raging flood. His neighbors’ homes have all collapsed and floated away. The guy is praying fervently for God to save him.

Soon some folks in a motorboat come by and invite him to go wth them. He declines by saying, “No thanks; God is going to save me.” Not long after, a helicoptor crew spy him on the roof and swooping down, drop a line down and tell him, above the noise, to tie himself fast. To which he bravely declines, once more expressing his faith in the Almighty.

Soon thereafter, the house collapses, the guy winds up in the raging waters and drowns; and immediately finds himself in God’s presence, where he expresses his disappointment with being allowed to drown, abandoned by God. To which our gracious Saviour replied, “Who do you think sent the boat and the helicopter?”

These “spiritual purist giants” who so fastidiously demand a candidate of simon purity or they’ll “sit this one out” have apparently never READ the Scriptures, or worse yet, don’t BELIEVE them. Else they would be aware of some of the shady, shakey characters God has hand-picked and used for His glory. Try David, or Samson for openers. Yes, God said that Davey was a man after His own heart. All the more startling if one reads the whole story of some of the shennanigans David pulled....not limited to his shacking up with Bathsheba, and then having her husband murdered. And Samson? Now THERE was a piece of work. But God used him for His own glory.

The job of going into DC and busting up the Corrupt Bastards Club ain’t a game of tiddly winks, or playing paper dolls. Yes, Cruz is a good guy, and he FOUGHT several battles during his short tenure so far in the Senate. But HOW MANY DID HE WIN?!

Trump is THE man for THIS job, at THIS time. Anyone who stupidly stays home and refuses to vote for him when he becomes OUR candidate, is demonstrably more foolish than the lunkhead on the house roof.

It is true, we are EXTREMELY regulated industry. You would not believe all of the background checks we go through to get hired. We all get fingerprinted. You cannot work in our industry with any felony convictions, and even misdemeanor offenses are closely scrutinized. Most firms require drug tests and criminal background checks. The SEC and FINRA closely monitor all securities firms. We are highly regulated in every respect. I don’t think we will agree on much. But I don’t think Heidi Cruz’s past employment at Goldman Sachs should disqualify Ted Cruz from running for president.

Wall St. and the financial "industry" propagated the STEM shortage hoax along with the rest of "them". They've been pushing for H-1b visa for a along time. It is no accident the Cruz proposesed a 500% increase inh-1b visas!

Cruzaders get real.

If you follow what the candidates actually say instead of what some here claim they say, Trump is the clear choice to support.

Otherwise imagine for a minute 4 years of Sanders or Hillary.

Nice straw man argument but it doesn’t fly.

He has a history of liberal positions ranging from govt subsidized health care, assault weapons ban, abortion, bank bailouts, Kelo, ethanol subsidies etc etc......as recent as 5 years ago he called the Republican immigration stance “mean spirited”.

Don’t try and bullsh!t me bro.

You remind me of my daughter... Mom, who do I vote for, please tell me! I’ll tell you the same thing I tell her... the greatest gift you have in freedom is the ability to think and vote for yourself! And always remember, it’s only adults that have that right! So be one and think for yourself!

What we'll be told next is "Trump had to be a liberal to do business in NY."

After Romney, no more holding my nose. That was further confirmed by the feckless leadership in Congress after they were handed the Senate and the House.

If I do come around to vote for Trump, and that's a big if, it will be only as a vote against the Democrat...nothing more. I have no expectations of what a Trump presidency will be like, other than he'll be a louder bully than Obama, and his supporters will be older versions of this:

Then again, maybe that's what the country needs...we'll find out, won't we?

I really resent being called an attention “Ho” by a fellow Georgian. A few years ago a rabbit was eating my green beens and I let fellow Freepers determine it’s fate. 80% voted for annilation so I shot the rabbit that night!

Your reply was to Post 1 which included a reference to "Want to defend God, family, guns, country?"

You stated "Trump only started talking that way when he started running for the nomination. He told conservatives what they wanted to hear and many ate it up without question." "His 2 decade history of liberal positions however tell the real story."

My link debunked one portion of the "liberal positions" meme - the idea that he was only talking a conservative position on guns because he was running for office.

Since many of Trump's positions are strongly conservative and have been consistent over the 15 or so years on record I could have selected a different position to highlight but I chose 2nd Amendment.

Rubio is a younger Reagan

Is this a joke? Reagan challenged the political establishment of his party, Rubio is an empty suit who isn't capable of anything more than reading off the scripted party line.

My "dilemma" is the opposite of yours: I can't decide between voting for Trump or Cruz on Super Tuesday, so I'm going to go with whoever has the best chance of defeating RNC candidate of choice Rubio.
