I'm trying to understand FR's embrace of the Donald, but I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around this one. I too had a favorable first reaction when I heard him talking about building the wall in absolute terms, and his rejection of the concept of amnesty for illegal aliens. I also admired that he was the first politician in a long time that would fight back against the media and left-wing attacks, instead of trying to appease the left. However, that admiration quickly wore off when I researched Trump and found clip after clip of the man, in his own words embracing every liberal talking point in the book. Planned Parenthood, gay marriage, abortion, government health care, protectionist trade policies, increasing taxes on businesses and the most productive. Of course, the man has taken the opposite positions on most of these two. Sometimes he will take both sides of an issue in the same discussion. Also, his "I'm awesome at___________" is wearing a bit thin. I want to hear what you plan to do, not how great you are. Then there is his child like temper, calling anyone he doesn't agree with , Liar, Pu@@Y or worse. Just seems kind of juvenile. The personality quirks I could live with, but a man who praises Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry and Hillary Clinton is another thing. And perhaps most important of all, he has said that his uber liberal sister would be a great Supreme Court Justice. Other than being a recent convert on Immigration this man has no conservative bona fides and yet have of FR acts like you would expect this board to react if Ronald Regan had returned. I just don't get it. If Bernie Sanders starts lobbying for the fair tax and runs for President on the GOP ticket would the Trumpets start feeling the Bern.

This is what I posted to, with similar disrespect and sentiment. I returned name calling with name calling, consciously, in part to point out the name calling, hence the hyperbolic name calling back.
If you cant' take a taunt back, don't taunt.
If you notice, the people constantly dumping on Trump for his name calling, do their own name calling in the same sentence. It's total hypocrisy, and hypocrisy is for losers.
Perhaps I jammed a little too much meaning into a tiny little post. What's above was the meaning, probably combined with frustration at reading too many posts from normally sane-ish conservatives behaving like liberals.
There have been times when mocking a bigot, I have imitated one, and done such a good job that I was thought to be a bigot. This seems to be one of those situations.

Trump has proven he has what it takes to stand up to the liberal media, all the elites, Democrat Party, DC lobbyists, Outsourcing Corps, Foreign governments and RINOs - just on those two issues alone !

I came across an open white supremacist on Twitter the other day who was all for Trump. If they did exit polls on white supremacy I think Trump would be getting 99.9% of that crowd.
What you wrote sums up the feelings of many. Thinking those issues and questions that you raised will not be answered any time soon.
For me . . . Trump attack on Bush regarding WMD in Iraq was either disingenuous, dishonest, strategic (setting the stage for the general) or a person has no sense of values, or all the above.
I doubt Trump has to sit down at dinner with those who loss kin in Iraq, with an empty chair by the table, looking at each other thinking our loved one died for a lie!

I succinctly explained this to everyone in post #45.
ACU ratings, Conservative Review ratings, etc. simply don't mean a damn anymore. We are looking for a leader who will get us from point A to point B. We are tired of donors, the corruption, and that insiders are making out like bandits while the people are getting screwed.
We know that Trump supported liberalism - but at least he didn't sign any legislation like most Republicans did that destroyed conservatism and Constitutional government.
I would love to see a more recent one. Do you know of one?

There’s always a chance that Trump is the ShamWow candidate, and wants to be President of the United States just as a joke, or that he’s secretly a liberal running as a conservative.
I have no past performance of Trump as President, or as an elected anything, to go on. His business and entertainment ventures seem successful.
If Trump is a closet leftist or lunatic, then I’m no worse off than if a GOPe or Dem was in charge. That’s just a fast or faster ticket to Fedzilla run amok.
If Trump is the real deal, then it’s a slim chance to reverse course for a little while at least.
I’d love for a more eloquent, less bombastic, humbler, nicer, pure conservative self funded champion from outside the beltway to miracle himself into the race, but I want to win the PowerBall, too.
Besides, the fact that Trump, personality and all, is kicking the stuffing out of the professional political critters indicates a certain competence and ability to win. You gotta win or it’s all talk.
Also, it’s damn gratifying to see the political elites running around clutching their pearls and making those faces like somebody peed in their cornflakes.

Apparently you forgot your first post to me (I added it again to help your feeble memory). So who called who a name? Since “total loser” is not my given name I’m assuming you’re calling me one. Again, typical of Donny’s followers simply emulating his personality.
Been under fire...and probably trained to cover the back of the one next to you. Without lawyers and the media, you were willing to lay down your life for your friends. It is the greatest love on the war trail and I have not seen it on any campaign trail.
