The crew of an Apollo mission to the moon were so startled when they encountered strange music-like radio transmissions coming through their headsets, they didn't know whether or not to report it to NASA, it's been revealed.
It was 1969, two months before Apollo 11's historic first manned landing on the moon, when Apollo 10 entered lunar orbit, which included traversing the far side of the moon when all spacecraft are out of radio contact with Earth for about an hour and nobody on Earth can see or hear them.
As far as the public knew, everything about the mission went smoothly.
Almost four decades went by before lost recordings emerged that revealed something unsettling that the three Apollo astronauts had experienced while flying above the far side of the moon.

There is no dark side of the moon, really. As a matter of fact its all dark.
Forgot about that. With a long dipole, a shortwave radio, and the correct alignment of Sun, Earth, Jupiter, you can pick up Jupiter in the vicinity of 20Mhz.
So, if the Apollo CM was on the far side of the Moon, shielded from the Sun, and had a LOS to Jupiter, then perhaps it was radio noise from Jupiter. Or any other natural radio source that is otherwise overwhelmed by the Sun or obscured the Earth's magnetosphere.
Sundance at Conservative Treehouse came up with that, to illustrate the political / socio-economic sh*tstorm coming to America real soon now.
“Itâs whales. Whale music. Clearly there are whales in outer space.”
Star Trek IV.
Star Lord’s Mix-tape.
Jessica Chastain from the move Take Shelter.
I never saw the movie, now you know as much about it as I do.
...good graphic though.
It has now been revealed that UFO's and Bigfoot are linked. This theory explains why no Bigfoot bodies have been found. A UFO picks up the remains of Bigfoot who die on earth and takes them to Bolok the Bigfoot home planet. This theory has been proposed by ancient astronaut theorists.
Running over the same old ground.
From a copy I have of an Apollo News Reference from Grumman:
“When the Lunar Module (LM) and Command and Service Module (CSM) are behind the moon, VHF channel A is used for simplex LM-CSM voice communications. VHF channel B is used as a one way data link to transmit system telemetry signals from the LM to be recorded and stored by the CSM. When the CSM establishes S-band contact with Manned Space Flight Network (MSFN) the stored data are transmitted by the CSM at 32 times the recording speed.”
So it looks to me like the Apollo was designed to automatically cut over to sending telemetry over one of the voice channels as soon as contact was lost w/MSFN. This is consistent w/the sound starting when they “go dark” and it stops when they emerge. MSFN is earth-side.
So it could be that what they were hearing was the pseudorandom noise of telemetry being sent on one of their voice channels.
That’s right. And their mating calls can be heard throughout the Galaxy. I’ve heard them when camping in the high country.
Wish they were here.
The Hotel was the Roswell which was right next to the High school in Del Rio. I lived two blocks over on Strickland Avenue. It wasn’t uncommon to see Mr. Smith leaving the Roswell or hanging out in the game room on the first floor.
I should probably just break down and subscribe. I have older shows Rem their archives. Great stuff!
