Hillary Clinton Takes Natural Desiccated Thyroid Posted on August 3, 2015

A letter was released by Hillary Clinton's doctor, Lisa Bardack, MD, disclosing among other things, Hillary is taking natural desiccated thyroid pills for hypothyroidism, and she has a Calcium Score of zero. She also takes vitamin B12. Dr Lisa Bardack declared Hillary "fit to serve as president."

Perhaps Dr Lisa Bardack prescribes natural thyroid for Hillary Clinton because it is a better thyroid medication. And perhaps Dr Lisa Barack prescribes natural thyroid for Hillary Clinton in spite of the opposition of the Endocrine Society Position_Statement which says natural desiccated thyroid (NDT) should not be used as thyroid replacement therapy:

"In general, desiccated thyroid hormone or thyroid extract, combinations of thyroid hormones, or triiodothyronine should not be used as thyroid replacement therapy." (Quote from Endocrine Society Position Statement.)

Perhaps Dr Bardack prescribes NDT (natur5al desiccated thyroid in spite of the opposing 2012 position statement of the American Association of Endocrinologists and the ATA (American Thyroid Association) regarding the use of natural desiccated thyroid, which says:

"There is no evidence to support using desiccated thyroid hormone in preference to L-thyroxine monotherapy in the treatment of hypothyroidism and therefore desiccated thyroid hormone should not be used for the treatment of hypothyroidism." (quote)

The ATA Guidelines For Treatment Hypothyroidism were updated Dec 2014, saying:

"We recommend that levothyroxine (T4 only) be considered as routine care for patients with primary hypothyroidism, in preference to use of thyroid extracts (NDT)." Perhaps Dr Bardack has read these position statements opposed to the use of natural desiccated thyroid (NDT), and has chosen to ignore them as I have done, recognizing these position statements merely reflect the financial interests of the pharmaceutical industry controlling these medical societies and organizations.

Natural Thyroid is Better then Synthroid

The reality is that natural desiccated thyroid is a more robust and superior thyroid medication when compared to T4 only medications such as levothyroxine. This has been true in my clinical experience.

- Perhaps Dr Bardack is familiar with the 2013 report by Dr Hoang at the Walter Reed Military Hospital which compared Desiccated thyroid extract to levothyroxine in the treatment of hypothyroidism, in which half the patients expressed a preference for NDT over T4 only treatment.(4)

She terrifies me, but not because she takes thyroid meds. I’d be more concerned if she needed them but didn’t take them. I’m in remission from Graves’ disease. Before it was diagnosed and I got on antithyroid meds I was on the edge of a breakdown.

I despise hillary but this is stupid. I had my thyroid removed a decade ago, have been on meds ever since and run half marathons.

Most of my female family members are on Armor. The synthetic crap does not work for them.

***Her bug eyed look was a a classic giveaway of high thyroid as in hyperthyroid.***

She should be thin as a rail and have the shakes, along with profuse sweating.

I was diagnosed as hyperthyroid back in 1978. Thin as a rail, shakes after minor exertion, sweating. It was diagnosed before the bug eyed effect took place.

Thyroid killed with radioactive iodine, and I have been on Synthroid since. No problems.

Not necessarily if she has other medical problems. Or she may be underdosed on the thyroid hormone. A lot of physicians like to do that to avoid aggravating heart problems.

My own theory is that Hillary was on synthyroid before and had thyroid swings between hypo and hyper. This was going on while she was Secretary of State and was a US Senator. That she has her thyroid under control now by taking the natural Armour version made from porcine thyroid glands

She was never thin but she still had swings towards that bug eyed hyperthyroid look, on many photo ops through the years. I took note of them. She went back and forth, hyper to hypo and back, like the pendulum on a clock

I am glad you sorted it out...and quicker than Hillary. She was in synthetic thyroid hell for at least six years. I am going by the photos I saw.

Bad angle of attack. Tons of women take synthroid after they have kids.

By her speeches she sounds like she’s on many meds.

I wonder if that Natural Desiccated Thyroid is harvested at Planned Parenthood.

There is a major problem for Hillary in taking desiccated pig or cow thyroid. She is also taking coumadin (warfarin) against her preponderance for developing blood clots.

Coumadin is a very potent anticoagulant, and in past was used as rat poison. A typical dose for a human means that the patient must be monitored frequently.

There is no contraindication between coumadin and Levothyroxin (or brand name Synthroid). But there *is* a contraindication with Armour thyroid.

I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism, and have been on Synthroid/Levothyroxine since the mid 80's with no problems or medication side effects. When I was first diagnosed, I had to take two pills because they didn't make a pill in the dosage I needed to take. A few years later, my numbers had gone down, and my dosage was changed to one pill (.125 mg). Last fall, after having my gall bladder removed, my dosage went down again. I'm now taking .112 mg.

I've got other health issues, but one thing that came to light a few years ago is that I have a hyper-parathyroid, which has caused my calcium levels to go up. I had to stop taking the Calcium with Vitamin D supplements my gynecologist told me to take. I now take Vitamin D once a week.

It does not help when she downs the pills with lots and lots of alcohol.
