“...and he would bring them back with work visas.”

Wait a minute - I thought it was Cruz that everyone was hollering about that wanted to increase the work visas?

His words:

“I want to move ‘em out, and we’re going to move ‘em back in and let them be legal,” he told CNN.

As for his plans for the “bad ones,” Trump said: “We have a lot of bad dudes, as I said. We have a lot of really bad people here. I want to get the bad ones out. ... And, by the way, and they’re never coming back.”

Please tell me where Trump ever advocated that if they go home they to come back as citizens.

Allow me to re-quote the senator, from the article posted: "Basically you make them fly back to their country for a minute, touch the ground, and then they come back with amnesty as citizens." Again, that's Ted's quote.

So, the question again is, where and when did Trump advocate deportees coming back 'with citizenship'? He has publicly advocated a return policy for those with no other criminal offenses. I'm not thrilled about that piece of his plan either.

Please take note, this is a narrow question, and I'm expecting references and quotes. If Ted is being honest about Trump's position, specifically about the citizenship part, it should be an easy find. Or did Ted just embellish a little? Or did he slip and throw in the citizenship part and not really mean it?

And, a quick link to Trump's formal published position, in case you want to check.

Amen

All this “mud” slinging and they haven’t turned one person here.

I suspect many of these folks won’t be here after super Tuesday.

Trump will get 50 more delegates tomorrow.

You don’t listen — that’s not the issue, and it wasn’t what touchback claimed either.

Correct. Trump has proposed no such touchback scheme. Cruz is desperate. And Cruz supported legalization, which is amnesty.

Well said. Folks should ask themselves what the dialogue would be right now, today, if we had never heard of Donald Trump.

Would there be conversations about the illegal invasion of hundreds of thousands of Syrians? No one mentions the $20 trillion debt except Trump. The fence/wall comes up but no one ever does anything about it. Bridges, highways and airports are in decay. Not a peep from Jeb, Marco, and Teddy. In reality, those three read from the same hymnal. All open borders cheerleaders with no plans for doing anything constructive and pro-active.

We're down to whining silver spoon Jeb, two lawyers, and a business man.

apparently Trumpkins don't go back past 2015

Sure we do. Let's see what he said to have it in proper context.

Ronald Kessler reporting from Washington, D.C. - The Republican Party will continue to lose presidential elections if it comes across as mean-spirited and unwelcoming toward people of color, Donald Trump tells Newsmax.

Whether intended or not, comments and policies of Mitt Romney and other Republican candidates during this election were seen by Hispanics and Asians as hostile to them, Trump says.

"Republicans didn't have anything going for them with respect to Latinos and with respect to Asians," the billionaire developer says.

"The Democrats didn't have a policy for dealing with illegal immigrants, but what they did have going for them is they weren't mean-spirited about it," Trump says. "They didn't know what the policy was, but what they were is they were kind."

Romney's solution of "self deportation" for illegal aliens made no sense and suggested that Republicans do not care about Hispanics in general, Trump says.

"He had a crazy policy of self deportation which was maniacal," Trump says. "It sounded as bad as it was, and he lost all of the Latino vote," Trump notes. "He lost the Asian vote. He lost everybody who is inspired to come into this country."

This is the money line here, now pay attention:

The GOP has to develop a comprehensive policy "to take care of this incredible problem that we have with respect to immigration, with respect to people wanting to be wonderful productive citizens of this country," Trump says.

I'll agree that he trashed Romney, for not having a plan that was solid and affective. However, it is a far stretch to then turn around after the hits Trump has taken for the plan he has communicated to imply that he is for a form of amnesty that is being touted as touchback amnesty.

Sorry, we are not as stupid as you seem to believe we are, but you are extremely gullible to buy into the utter nonsense of Trump supporting amnesty in any shape or form. Ah, but Cruz said it. You Cruz supporters really need to do some self examination of your own, and quit trying to denigrate us at every possible opportunity. But of course when Master Cruz says bark you find yourself unable to not obey.

He welcomes, with open arms, immigrants who come here legally and want to be productive American citizens.

Maybe you (and a number of others) should try reading Trump's position paper carefully, and doing a little serious thinking, before posting laughable questions and attacks.

There ARE questions to be asked about Trump's plan, and you've missed every one.

As for yours, I'll take the 1st & 5th - I don't have time to respond to SIX silly questions:

How will making them go back and get in line be enforced?

This is most of the substance of Trump's paper. Among other things: (These are the HEADINGS of discussions of actions Trump's paper proposes)

"Triple the number of ICE officers." "Nationwide e-verify." (You may not like it, but it WOULD be effective.) "Mandatory return of all criminal aliens." (These are people in custody - it's a lot cheaper to ship 'em home than keep them jailed.) "Defund sanctuary cities. " "Enhanced penalties for overstaying a visa." "Cooperate with local gang task forces." "End birthright citizenship." "Increase prevailing wage for H-1Bs." (This needs further detail, but the idea is correct.) "Requirement to hire American workers first." "End welfare abuse." (by immigrants)

Following, and to answer your 5th "question", Because after all the trouble and expense on our part, there will be a door in the wall.

Here is the full text following the final heading in Trump's paper heading, emphasis by myself:

"Immigration moderation." "Before any new green cards are issued to foreign workers abroad, there will be a pause where employers will have to hire from the domestic pool of unemployed immigrant and native workers. This will help reverse women's plummeting workplace participation rate, grow wages, and allow record immigration levels to subside to more moderate historical averages."

If the intent in all that is not clear, then likely no one can help you. OTOH, if you can approach it unbiased, Trump's paper goes into considerably more detail: Read it.

No. Trump deleted his plan to deport illegals from his written plan. And if he had not you pay gazillions to round them up and ship them out and turn around and fast track them back in?
Amnesty in my book.

Total lies. Cruz is the one I don’t trust because he is very fond of H1B1 visas and free trade agreements. I like Cruz and would vote for him but no one is stronger than Trump on immigration, trade, and jobs.

I posted a quote from Ted.
In fact I extracted and reposted a quote from the very article that heads this thread.

His words.
He said it.

What I want is the background that suppors Ted’s claim that Trump is promising citizenship on return.

That’s my concern.
That’s my question.
Ted said it.
I want the reference.
It’s a simple, narrow question.

Can he back up this statement?
Or did he embellish to make a point?
Or is it an outright lie?

Well, I've read both plans, several times. Both are decent plans, both have weaknesses.

The deportation bit, however, is a straw man argument. There's no need to deport all the illegals (other than criminals, who Trump's plan goes after - what do you think the tripled number of ICE agents is for?)

Take away the incentives to stay: No work, no welfare, revoke birthright citizenship, etc., and most will leave, taking their kids with them.

Yes, that is amnesty. Under current laws, they aren’t eligible to come back at all—but Trump would not only make them eligible to return—he would “expedite” their return.

Just like the original GOPe touchback amnesty scheme.

I’m apologize, because you are the first Donald Trump supporter here to acknowledge his remarks and attempt to address them, but you’re spinning like a top. Looking at Trump’s remarks, he is clearly of the view that illegal aliens need a path to citizenship and the “comprehensive plan” on immigration is akin to the proposal by the Gang of 8. Under the laws of the United States, illegal aliens shouldn’t be here, shouldn’t be constituting a Lation vote, and the problem is a dereliction of duty and unwillingness to enforce the law. Nothing prevents foreign nationals from Mexico or Latin America form applying for US citizenship. The fact is the unwillingness of our government to execute our laws couplesd with their governments encouraging their illegal migrations and their royal disregard for our soverignty does not entitle them to special deals or privileges. Donald Trump’s plan is touchback amnesty..deportation followed by swift reentry and fast tracking citizenship. Finally Mr. Pot, quit calling the kettles black and we do not ascribe to your cult of personality. We should be repealing the 1965 immigration and nationality act..our military should he defending our borders rather than the 38th parallel or European welfare states..all illegal aliens should face deportation..and US citizens that hire, rent to, and facilitate illegal aliens should face prosecution. There shouldn’t even be talk of legalizing illegal aliens.
