Presidential candidate Ted Cruz has praised Donald Trump for making illegal immigration a central issue of the Republican presidential race, but in an exclusive interview with ABC News, Cruz said that Trumpâs immigration plan amounts to amnesty.
"So Donald Trump's position is once you deport them, it's what's called touchback. A lot of establishment Republicans had touchback," Cruz said in an interview with ABC Newsâ George Stephanopoulos. "Basically you make them fly back to their country for a minute, touch the ground, and then they come back with amnesty as citizens. Now, Donald is entitled to do that. He can advance that position, but he doesn't get to pretend that it's not amnesty if he's legalizing 12 million people [who are] here illegally."
Cruz also accused Trump of latching onto the issue of illegal immigration for political gain. Cruz said Trump was notably absent during the battle over the âGang of Eightâ immigration reform bill in 2013.
"I would note at that time, right in the middle of the fight, Donald Trump was publicly supporting amnesty. He was supporting Marco Rubio's Dream Act," Cruz said. "He was criticizing Mitt Romney for being too tough on immigration. That's where Donald Trump was in 2013. Now, when he launched his campaign for president, suddenly he discovered illegal immigration was a problem."

To the king all things are legal. Ask Obama.
This is an example of making things up about Trump. Did Trump say they could all become citizen once they’re outside or simply line up to become citizen like everyone else?
Exactly! No amnesty is Trump’s position. They go back and get in line for legal admittance like every other foreigner!
CRUZ lets them stay here with legal status!
A legalization amnesty would be a legal way. I'm pretty sure that McConnell, Ryan, Reid and Pelosi would be happy to make it legal.
Spamming the sidebar again.
The same question you asked me? Do you think I don’t visit other threads?
I have questions:
How will making them go back and get in line be enforced?
How long will it take to make them go back?
How will they get there and who will pay for getting them there?
If we have to pay for all of the above, does it make any sense to bother making them go back?
Because after all the trouble and expense on our part, there will be a door in the wall.
It will be cheaper just to leave them here ... right?
Conclusion: Amnesty.
He said they get to come back. That’s amnesty.
Those of us living in reality remember that Donald Trump was bashing Mitt Romney for his “mean-spirited” immigration plan that would cost the Latino vote but apparently Trumpkins don’t go back past 2015.
What you said. Good stuff. Reminds me why I’m a Trump supporter.
Or trumpeter. Trumpet. I prefer ‘strumpet’.
Whatever. Go Trump!
So he didn’t say “let the good ones back in” right...
Touchback means...?
Cruz’s comments increasingly sound like the voice of desperation
“I would expedite [the process], because some of these people (illegal aliens) are fantastic people. I’ve been to the border, I was there a few days ago. I met some people, these are fantastic people and they have great reputations within the community. So what I’d do is that I would expedite it. You have to have laws. If you don’t have laws, you don’t have a country. I would get them out, and I would try, the good ones — the bad ones, they’re gone, they never come back. They’ll never get back into this country. But, the good ones, of which there are many, I want to expedite it so they can come back in legally.”

Trump did say there has to be laws, and the bad ones gone. Also expedite the good ones return.
Do you think you are the only one who needs to be asked?
Sorry was attempting to post that to Kenny(+-).
Clicked the wrong post!!! :)
No he did say that LEGALLY! He said he wants them to come in but LEGALLY!
That's the opposite of amnesty.
IIRC,
Trump said they will be expedited,
and another time they will be put to the front of the line!
Whenever CRUZ open his mouth, he is lying.
I think that you think a lot of yourself, up on that high horse, as you promote your Northeast liberal.
