Apple has sold $12billion in bonds as part of another scheme to lower its tax bill.

The tech giant got itself further into debt even though it has $215billion in the bank, more than the US Treasury.

California-based Apple sold the bonds under a complicated scheme which is reportedly designed to ensure that it does not have to pay US tax on its profits earned abroad.

If what Apple has done is LEGAL, then more power to them. Why pay tax you are not required to pay??

Why criticize Apple for conducting business this way when the U.S. tax code requires corporations to pay taxes on profits, but allows tax deductions for interest payments on bonds?

No no no! Socialism supporting Apple needs to make sure everyone PAYS their taxes. They must practice what they preach. They need to set a good example. They need to be good little socialists and make sure they put as much money in the Federal and State pot as they can.

Because they Believe in tax increases and government power. I say they should be required to abide by their own politics.

Exactly. I remember once helping my daughter with an Essay for English Class. I think it had something to do with Celebrities supporting tax increases or some such.

By the time I was finished "helping" her, we had a pretty good essay arguing that the celebrities should be required to pay the levels of taxes they advocate for everyone else.

I'm pretty sure her teacher wasn't amused, but I certainly had a good time with it. :)

I've been thinking that coercive taxation above a certain level is contrary to natural law, and should not be allowed no matter how big a majority of people say so.

In other words, a "vote" does not give you a right to make of me a slave. Maximum demands of me from government should not be contrary to natural law.

Apple is a typical anti-American company: Buy our products so we can make obscene profits by building those products overseas, which means you suckers need to work for someone else that will pay you to buy our products because we won’t.
