It may sound crazy now but it's very possible Trump will pick Cruz as VP [vanity]

Posted on 02/16/2016 7:04:51 PM PST by springwater13

At the end of the day, it's about business. Trump doesn't have the organization Cruz does and won't want to spend the money to build it from scratch. Picking Cruz as Veep allows him to get his organization "wholesale" out of "bankruptcy" at a price that can't be beat "free."

Donald's not stupid. He'll make the deal if Cruz is agreeable to it and they can figure out a working partnership.

I know you don’t have much to say. But you don’t think that voters are punishing him for his little tricks? Why do you think he is being rejected by the voters? I know you are not a deep thinker but please for goodness sake answer that question.

Why would Cruz take it? He is relevant in the Senate and as President. He is irrelevant as VP.

Trump took the position that the existing ethanol law passed by Congress and signed by the President should be enforced. BFD! Why pick a fight on a complicated issue in the middle of a campaign? Especially when your main opponent already has?

So if he decides that the subsidies are not good government in the future, he can use his “take the lumps out” approach that he would have taken on the Iran $150B. “I am so sorry, Iowa, but we are too much in debt to be able to afford to continue these subsidies.”

What man answers the question, “Honey, does this dress make me look fat?”

“How does he pick someone he claims is ineligible, exactly?”

Consistency has never bothered Trump.

Here is a great article about how Reagan picked Bush in 1980. From a guy who was right there with Reagan. I never realized how close Reagan was to picking Ford as his Veep.

At one time that would have been my fondest desire. Today, after the shock subsides, it would need to be mulled and tossed around a bit. There are hurdles for Cruz to overcome, but if Trump should see him as a fit prospect who are we to doubt? And how angry would Trump become if he offered to Cruz a highly sought after slot? How angry would Cruz be? Could the two put aside past differences. And how about those many American citizens who might still be in the dark regarding Cruz. Those who at one time supported him and now find him lacking? This is where the mulling and tossing will be well used. Like Scarlett, we’ll think about that tomorrow.

I’m not sure if honesty is a virtue Trump hold highly, but certainly loyalty. Trump is not always honest himself, he pretend to be a democrat because he’s a world class business man and want to get along with people

based on your post, trump is a politician not a outsider willing to take on special interests.

I agree with the S. Martinez pick. Have since last summer. Have you heard any rumblings about it? I haven’t.

I look at Trump as a mentor for Cruz!!! Cruz could be ready in four years to take this mess over, after four years of Trump it will be back on track and easier for Cruz to step in!!! I DO NOT think Trump had ANY desire to stay more than four!!!!

That would be the ideal. However, first the NBC issue needs to be resolved. Until that is clarified, all else is mute. If Trump would want to serve for 8 years that would be agreeable, but, like you, it is felt he would prefer to go back to his business and continue his career from that vantage point. If he felt all which need a remedy had not been addressed, would he once again go thru the carnival of primary and election in order to complete his mission? He would be 4 years older and tired. At this point it is difficult to see how Trump and Cruz could ever be a duo but stranger things have happened.

Yes, as of June 16, 2015, Donald J. Trump is officially a politician, and based on his dominance of this campaign, a very, very good politician, in deed! Not to worry, after he wins the primary and turns his full attention to the Democrat, you will begin to like him, a lot! ;-)

I don’t buy it.

Why would he nominate the worst human being ever born? Cruz is nasty, no one likes nasty people. Cruz is unstable, and that’s not safe to have in leadership. Cruz isn’t a natural born citizen so he wouldn’t be eligible to succeed Trump if something happened. Cruz can’t get along with Congress, which is terrible for the President of the Senate. No one likes Cruz, which would make diplomacy hard. Cruz’s ethnicity and religion aren’t aligned in what Trump feels is the proper way, which may upset religious groups.

The only people less likely to be his VP are Jeb who’s stupid and weak, and Carson who’s as bad as a child molester. Hell Putin and Kim Jong Un are more likely choices since Trump’s had more praise for those two murderous dictators than he has ever had for these other candidates.

there are ALOT of retired folks there who remember how this country used to be before ALL of the PC crap and freedoms were stolen from us!

Except so very many of those are retired NYC types. They will vote what they are comfortable with. That is Bernie Sanders/Clintoon and liberalism.

There is good reason why Florida went from a sane conservative State to one that went for Obutthole. Another place infected by the NYC/NE virus.
