I find it curious that in 30 minutes this question has resulted in over 100 responses...
I would suggest another possibility. John Ellis Bush decided to become JEB!, but Rafael Edward Cruz Jr. would result in REC!, which any first-year marketing student would understand is something less than desirable as a campaign slogan—and I say this as someone who think Rafael el Segundo is our best choice for the Presidency.
