unless you stop illegal immigration you will have no more country let alone a Free Republic in a few years.. I don’t recognize my small town in SC anymore where now half the people in it don’t speak English,, and this has happened all in the last 15 years,,, it won’t be long until we are outnumbered by Hispanics in our own town if we don’t stop it very soon.. there is only ONE person who had the brass ones to make stopping illegal immigration the forefront and number one issue of his campaign and has taken all the slings and arrows to do so.. maybe you can understand where a lot of us are coming from now..

I’m a single issue voter. As a Californian since 1961 this is why.

Hint: It’s not because they’re electing conservative Republicans that California is in such a mess.

And don’t think it won’t spread to the rest of America. Unless you’re blind or stupid, you can see it everywhere.

Census: Hispanics overtake whites to become California’s largest ethnic group
About 15 million Hispanics live in state
California has six times as many Hispanics now as it did in 1970
Births and immigration are driving population increase

It’s official: Hispanics are now the largest ethnic group in California.

About 15 million Hispanics lived in California on July 1, 2014, compared to roughly 14.9 million non-Hispanic whites, according to U.S. Census Bureau estimates released late last week. The California Department of Finance predicted in 2013 that Hispanics would outnumber whites in 2014; the census figures confirm that prediction.

The new data represents a historic shift over a short period of time. California has six times as many Hispanics today as it did in 1970. The number of non-Hispanic whites in the state has declined since 1970.

California Hispanics today enjoy more influence than ever before. They run tens of thousands of California businesses; they support scores of Spanish-language newspapers, radio and TV stations; they make up a sizable proportion of nearly every county in the state, and they hold political positions ranging from mayor of Long Beach to president pro tem of the state Senate.

“It’s a milestone for California,” said Mark Hugo Lopez, director of Hispanic research at the Pew Research Center. “In many respects, California’s large population growth has been driven by Hispanic population growth.”

What you said! Congress has had plenty of opportunity to fix this and they won't. Why? Because they are bought out by big money - all of them! DT isn't. My best and last hope.

Exactly correct. Trump is the only candidate will to tell the truth about the destruction of this nation via mass immigration. The only one, yeah maybe Cruz had a meaningless talking point or two. Cruz had the opportunity to make legal and illegal immigration the center piece of his campaign but his choose not do.

From another thread

Why are we supporting Trump? We are in a war with the Marxist globalists and we are at war with Islam and we are losing both wars. The country needs a leader that is unabashedly an American first. A leader that will defend America, rebuild the military, secure the border, defend Christianity, bring back manufacturing jobs and deport illegals. Prior to Trump getting in, NO ONE was talking about any of these things. NO ONE.

If we do not fix immigration this election cycle the country is done, the constitution is dead and we the people are screwed. That is why we the people are getting behind Trump. It got zero to do with right/left. It's survival.

I guess Phyllis Schlafly is not a conservative any more either. Trump is 'last hope for America'. Some people can see the forest thru the trees others can't.

I don't recognize my small town in SC anymore where now half the people in it don't speak English, and this has happened all in the last 15 years

When you described your town in SC, it seemed as if you were talking about my home town in Texas. When Mr. Trump initially announced and took his hard line on immigration, I was skeptical but very pleased that he was willing to take the heat. Just about the time I got over my skepticism and decided I would support him, he slipped in the new provision that we would bring the good ones back.

He hasn't defined who he considers a "good one" but whoever they are, his policy now seems to be that they could just go home for the weekend, pick up a permit and return with all the rights of a legal immigrant. Ironically, his policy now seems to be more liberal than the McCain policy of having them pay a fine and back taxes and then receive legal status. Despite this significant change, he is still being given credit for his original hard line stand.

Being almost a "single issue voter" on the question of immigration, Mr. Trump's waffling on this issue has caused my to look at other aspects of his candidacy that I had previously been willing to overlook. He seems to be very thin skinned and exhibits a disturbing sense of entitlement. As angry as I am about the betrayal by the political establishment, I am not totally convinced that Mr. Trump is the alternative. He, along with many of his most ardent supporters, need to understand that you can't bully or insult detractors into becoming supporters. In any event, I appreciate your post and sympathize with you for the loss of the hometown you once had.
