Ir we could just go what he actually did recently say.
That he would appoint someone in the mold of Scalia and Thomas.
Yes, HAIL CRUZ! CRUZ UBER ALLES!
Seriously man, lay off the kool-aid. We get it, you like him.
He was all for Roberts, who broke all of our hearts. It can probably happen with anyone’s nominee, it’s kind of a dice roll.
Fact is, one Supreme Court vacancy is not the lone criteria for this election. I trust Trump’s judgement on Supreme Court nominees, otherwise I wouldn’t be voting for him. A bunch of Supreme Court Justices are old, so the next POTUS is likely to appoint a few.
It’s cool, we have a difference of opinion. It happens. But you should really tone it down some. You’re at an 11. We need you at about a 6.
I would be happy with that also. Since members of the court aren’t elected he might do the country good.
And if Trump says he would do that if nominated, it would heal some wounds. I might be ok with voting for Trump.
Exactly.
Jesus saved our Republic.
Has Trump ever made his views about Supreme Court Justices known before he decided to run for President? I’ve looked for comments from him and haven’t been able to find any.
I doubt Trump was a Scalia admirer until very recently.
Exactly what Phyllis Schlafly said a couple of weeks ago.
Well, I guess that’s one way of getting rid of your competition.
But .. first, Cruz would not accept the appointment. Ooops!
Second .. the Senate would never confirm Cruz. Ooops!
Your next plan ..?????????????????????????
Cruz is 4th in South Carolina right now.
The Senate likely would confirm just to get rid of Cruz.
This scenario is after the next few rounds of primaries.
Obama says he will nominate.
STOP this from happening Senate!!!!!
Maybe to the point of murder.
For all the naysayers on this thread, let me confirm your wisdom:
When Cruz shutdown the government in 2013, that prevented the Republicans from taking over the Senate?
It made Republicans look so bad and so Evil that Democrats increased their majority in 2014?
alternatively, the voters who switched the Senate to Republican control, were voting for the wise and prudential guidance of Mitch McConnell. They liked people like John McCain.
The public vote in 2014 was a referendum on Cruz’s audacious shutdown. And just like the Gingrich revolution in the mid 1990s, this led to a conservative transformation that is still rolling.
The public concluded that what Cruz did in 2013 was correct.
When I witness the venom pouring forth on this ostensibly conservative board, I have no hesitation in pointing this out.
I see no substantive counter to this analysis in this thread thus far.
Amen
“I hope to never see Cruz on the Supreme Court. You can kiss the constitution goodbye if he ends up there.”
That is so detached from reality it is plain ignorant. I get it, you don’t like Cruz but statements like that are so far over the top they make you look foolish.
Do the Trump supporters really want everyone else in the GOP who disagrees to leave Trump hanging in November? It sure seems that way.

This should be a wake up call for everyone.
If we don't re-instate Constitutional government-We are finished. It's that simple
Ted Cruz is who we need at this moment in our history. It's why I am praying he will be our next president.
I respectfully disagree.
Cruz would make an Excellent Jurist on the SCOTUS.
I have Friends in Texas that have known the Cruz Family since his days as the Solicitor General there. They could not speak more highly of his dedication, intelligence and talent. They told me he was the real deal, and I have no reason to doubt them.
His loyalty to the United States Constitution has been proven by his record in defending Cases in front of the Supreme Court, and winning most of not all those cases as well.
Please separate what is happening in the Race for the Republican Nomination from Senator’s Cruz’s proven talent and dedication to the Constitution. Thanks.
NR is a moot point at this time. Trump will curb islam, Dindus and Illegals. Good enough for now.
Good for you. I hope to never see our long-time foe Donald Trump (Democrat, donor to Dems, supporter of abortion, supporter of gun control) in the White House. It’s Donald Trump who has the conditional support of Bob Dole, Jimmy Carter, Scott Brown and other losers. You aren’t worthy of having Cruz on the Supreme Court. He would be another Scalia. He belongs in the WH.
He said he would appoint his left-wing sister. NO ONE SHOULD SUPPORT TRUMP FOR THAT REASON ALONE. In August he said he would appoint a pro-abortion, partial-birth killing supporting justice to the Court. YUCK.
