I have been reading Donald Trump's twitter without problems until a couple of days ago. Now, I cannot view it anymore as I am asked by Twitter to submit a phone number to pair with my account. Well, I don't have a Twitter account nor do I want one because I don't intend to tweet. I guess that makes me a lurker. Do I actually need to create an account if I only want to read DT's tweets and not post tweets?
OK, here's the message that Twitter displays... Add a phone number. Enter the phone number that you would like to associate with your Twitter account. We will send you an SMS with a verification code. SMS fees may apply.
Well, I don't use text so I'm not sure how an SMS verification code would help me. I'm confused.
Yep, it was the cache clearing that solved the problem. I did a deep scan with malware detection, but both came up clean. Weird problem...can’t imagine why there’s a tie-in with the cache.
canât imagine why thereâs a tie-in with the cache.Because you were logged in. Bet you aren't anymore and that the request will pop up again when you log in again.
I'm an infrequent twitter user, but IIRC there's an X or a tiny "no thanks" somewhere on the request you can use to close it without giving them a phone number. Been a while since I looked at twitter, though, so maybe they're getting more insistent.
Welcome!
