I had no idea Maurice was so ill. I really enjoyed seeing the in concert back in the day. It was a big sprawling group that had a few unchangeable leaders. Maurice was one of those who wrote and performed on their greatest hits.

Spectacular band with spectacular tunes. Verdine was really the only one who was a super musician. But they had terrific tunes and arrangements.
When I was a dance-band musician in the 70’s EWF was the impossible ideal.
I recall going to an EWF concert in the early 80’s and it was simply grand. They killed it. Verdine was amazing, he could move his body in about 11 different axes at the same time.
