He Said He Was An Undecided Iowan Until He He Received This Controversial Mailer From Ted Cruz.

As Iowans prepare to head to the caucuses on Monday for the nation's first votes in the presidential primaries, the campaigns are pulling out all the stops. The mailer sent out by one Republican campaign, however, might end up backfiring.
Tom Hinkeldey, a resident of Alta, Iowa, tweeted a photo (which was later deleted because it included his personal address) on Friday evening of a mailer Sen. Ted Cruzâs campaign sent addressed to his wife, Steffany. The mailer was a large card printed to look like a manila envelope on one side and was labeled in all capital letters, "ELECTION ALERT," "VOTER VIOLATION," "PUBLIC RECORD," and "FURTHER ACTION NEEDED."
On the other side, the mailer said in red letters at the top, "VOTING VIOLATION."
Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler confirmed to IJ Review that the mailer was theirs in a phone call Friday evening, saying that the targeting had been "very narrow, but the caucuses are important and we want people who havenât voted before to vote."

Still, Ben Carson's campaign kicks the ass of Senator Cruz' campaign, when it comes to sheer incompetence.

I wonder how many $1 bills in window envelopes the Cruz campaign sent out to stimulate cash flow?
I wonder how many of those never got to the addressee because of sticky fingered post office workers?

Yeah, right. You think something like a Sunday show panel is going to sit down for 10 minutes and talk about a mailer? They know there are real issues to discuss and not these trivialities.
Well yes, because trivialities is all they talk about.

All Trump has to do is tweet the story link out this morning and say two glorious words:
Orwellian Scumbag.
Every newspaper and TV show around the world will report it. That is power.

I posted earlier today as, let's step, and take a second look as this might end up being a brilliant move. The shaming letters are the brain chile of, Chris Larimer, associate professor of political science at the University of Northern Iowa. Who I believe works for Cruz. This is his website. http://addins.kwwl.com/blogs/politics_in_iowa/author/clarimer Larimer, is a respected Political Science Consultant. They did the same thing in Alaska, and it worked. Their research looked ,at hree or four letters that would bring attention to the person's voting record. One was mild and generically said that a person should vote, then there was this one, which was the most effective. The Cruz team realizes that with Trump out of the debate it put Cruz in the spot light. A gutsy move like this shaming letter...could be brilliant move... or back fire. I THINK IT WILL PRODUCE ITS INTENT, IE TO GET PEOPLE TO VOTE. AND IT WILL PRODUCE CONSIDERABLE DEBATE TODAY... BUT, I think the guy that "outs" you is going to suffer. Would have been much much better if they got some independent researcher to do this... NOT SOMEONE OFFICIALLY linked to the Cruz campaign.

“the targeting had been “very narrow,”
I guess the effects will depend upon how “narrow” the targeting was and how publicized statewide.
That said, it was stupid

I'm betting a lot of voters said "Scr** You, Cruz". How dare you threaten me.
It won't send them to Trump's booth but it will kill potential Cruz voters.
Shows Cruz doesn't have control over things. Wonder who he's going to blame for this.

Trump is too busy to waste his time on Cruz’s campaign screw up. His input isn’t going to change the number of people p***** about the mailer.
To: teeman8r
So your answer is to hide behind Trump.
To: springwater13
His campaign was over with Glenn Beck.
It appears that Cruz had judgement issues. He trusted McConnell, now he trusts mentally unbalanced Beck.
He needs someone like Sessions to endorse him, not Beck.

One whole state out of 57 is considered narrow?
To: samtheman
It would irritate me to no end. These campaigns have no right to do this vote shaming.
This one is extra bas because it puts names of others on the flyer.
Disgusting.

Dems do it every election cycle. No worse than Dems using dead voters, jail or prison inmates or nursing home patients who are not aware of their surroundings much less what is going on in the world.
I never read them, they just go in the trash, along with the mailers begging for money. When I’ve done my homework on a candidate, I’ll decide if I want to donate to that candidate. No giving to the National GOPe orgs to support RINOS.
