The Brothers Vonnegut: Science and Fiction in the House of Magic

My review: This book is fascinating on so many levels but one of the most interesting, and unexpected, is the government-science collusion in the study and manipulation of WEATHER and climate. Bernard Vonnegut, Kurt's brother was a scientist at GE. Kurt worked there in the public relations department (as did later Ronald Reagan).

The author herself never claims this however, it is not hard to see the connection to this early government manipulation and hold over climate science and the origins of "climate change" came from government funded studies of weather by GE (General Electric) in the post war years.

Very enlightening. I recommend it for this alone.

Thanks for this recommendation, Lorianne. I like Vonnegut, mostly. This’ll be interesting at the very least.

Just ordered it and read a few pages online. A special meaning so far to an Air Weather Service officer.

Great. Please let me know what you think.
A lot in the book was very surprising to me ... things I had never heard of before regarding the US weather service, the military and government sponsored scienctific contractors.

Apart from that is a fascinating story of the lives of 2 brothers, one a famous author, at this very crucial point in our history.
