If you’re in a coyote zone don’t let your cats be outdoors. I don’t live in the country but I do live a pro-QB pass away from a dry river, part of what locals call the “coyote highway”, and we keep our cats indoors. Indoor cats live longer, healthier, less expensive lives.

Our cats have a very important job on the farm. They keep mice out of the barn. The dogs have a different job, they keep the coyotes and bobcats away from the barn. The Great Horned Owl that lives nearby is a bit of a problem, but the cats are very aware of his presence. Cats only very rarely disappear, but becoming Coyote chow is only one of several possibilities.

I think that you should round up some busybodies and demand a law that requires everyone to live like you. And, I don’t send $19 a month to the Humane Society either. Sue me.
