Four of the top 5 states are either tax hells or ultra high cost of living states or both (Like Hawaii, California, and NY). Your purchasing power living and working in these states would probably be significantly less than if you lived in a place like AL or GA
Depends on the tech job and how much experience you have
Would be more interested to see a list that takes cost of living into account.
Yes including taxes!
Just what is classified as a , Tech Worker ?
Yes, the raw number of dollars is pretty meaningless. What I would like to see is what those dollars will purchase.
I would also like to see a list of those states with the most H1B visa holders in IT and what percentage of the IT work force they comprise.
Most of the pictures make some sense but Oregon’s sure don’t look very enticing. They must really dislike Oregon if that was all they could find.
be back
It all depends on what you want. I can get you dummies for much less than these salaries. Want a wizard? Be prepared to pay substantially more!
exactly...I’ve seen web monkeys referred to as “STEM workers”
These are the jobs the corporation requires the American employee being booted to TRAIN his Indian replacement on. If the American refuses, he loses his severance and possibly his pension.

The list is incomplete.
They missed Uttar Pradesh and Kerala at least.
The trump meme universe is impenetrable.
I’m donning my flak jacket now,
but...
IT and software just don’t cut it as ‘tech’ jobs.
Think about who replaces those workers when companies want to cut costs.
I’m not sure what you are trying to say. IT isn’t a tech job? There are lots of variables using the term “IT”. It could mean anything from an engineer to entry level help desk. Same thing with “Software”. Entry level QA is far different than a Developer. What does replacing them have to do with anything? Most of the replacements can’t do the job of the people they replace, evidence of this has been shown time and time again.
