Celebrating Satan? While Homeschool w/ no TV really is the answer for our kids, we need to push back as hard as we can on Fox.
Ideas beyond the obvious of just tuning out?
In their honest moments, like something that appeared on Salon recently, the left admits that their greatest weapon is entertainment, bar none.
A great battle in the spiritual war continues going on right there.
This entertainment makes people turn away from evangelizing, makes them less fit to do so, and hardens the people who might hear the word.
Entertainment’s goal isn’t to entertain, but to change.
That’s not just a Christian conclusion, either, but is backed up by what the world says. I went to school for English and the message was that the express purpose of all art is to communicate something, and when it’s humanistic rather than focused on Christ, it’s to communicate humanism. And the people receiving it are the piece of paper, or film screen, or TV set - the clay to the potter. The entire thinking of the “creator” is how to effectively manipulate the person receiving the message, and if it’s done most effectively, it’s so gripping and entertaining that it avoids the smell of propaganda, and someone goes away happy, but changed. The the “creator” or “creators” world-views - their beliefs - are always what’s being communicated.
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.” Isaiah 5:20
Fox News may be “conservative” (or not), but Fox programming is decidedly very, very ‘low rent’.
"Wicked tells the story of two unlikely friends, Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West) and Glinda, who struggle through opposing personalities and viewpoints, rivalry over the same love-interest, reactions to the Wizard's corrupt government, and, ultimately, Elphaba's public fall from grace."
The Illuminati so dominate the culture they don’t need to hide behind obscure symbolism anymore, so now they can just portay the dashing, sexy Satan they have admired all along. The gay marriage SCOTUS ruling was probably the last marker to them. It’s over, and they’ve won.
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.” Isaiah 5:20
They’ll win a lot of awards and praise while they’re here, though.
Absurd claim. Was PBA even an issue 60 years ago? Of course not. What about Ronald Reagan signing in abortion rights as CA governor 12 years before HE ran for president. I guess Reagan isn't conservative enough for you Cruzerroids.
“...didn’t seem like it was going to be an evil based satan, more like a fun kind of guy.”
That was their publicly stated goal on how to mainstream homosexual perversion: present it in a favorable, non-threatening, personable, non-judgmental, humorous way on television shows (and have a hot chick totally accepting and promoting it every few minutes—Will and Grace). It worked.
Then present it as a fait accompli, and now anyone under 25 thinks you are a neanderthal knuckle dragger if you don’t positively gush over it.
Most of today’s TVs allow you to block the channels you don’t want to be viewed.
Many shows entertaining to adults and older teens are not suitable to young kids.
Totally off topic of the thread.
Trump has never been a Conservative.
No more Fox at our house. The crap they pulled at the debates is disgusting. Fox is unfair and unhinged.

This thread is about the Fox broadcast channel, NOT Fox News!
Fox is where they show stuff like “The Simpsons”, etc.
The X-Files show that aired tonight had some interesting plot and twists about global conspiracy tin-foil fodder.
Yes! Two words: Joe Buck
... the left admits that their greatest weapon is entertainment, bar none.
And most people literally cannot imagine living without it. Sometimes I wonder if the media or TV is the beast of Revelation.
I’m looking forward to Lucifer, my self.
Man, I thought it was terrible. Maybe I held up the X-files as something it wasn’t, or my standards really rose with all the great TV since the original run. I thought the acting was bad and the writing sub par. I have seen several places say the new version picks up in the third episode.
Freegards
Looked at through God’s Word, it becomes about as satisfying and real as reading the phonebook or eating cardboard. And people are going up to the leftists and asking them for storytime, and they oblige.
I remember reading about a decade or so ago about a study that showed conservatives liked nonfiction more than fiction, while liberals preferred fiction first. I imagine that’s changing.
You obviously find value in TV or else you wouldn’t have this question.
I find it to be a light-hearted reinterpretation of the Mephistopheles legend made famous by Goethe.
The Devil can be funny and as he reminds us, our sins are the result of our choices.
No one is forced to do evil and if they go down to hell, its of their own volition.
The Devil Made Me Do It is just a cop-out.
So I watched Fox’s “Lucifer” tonight. It was alright.
It portrays Satan (of course “Satan” is never used, just Lucifer or the devil) as not as evil but kinda like a prison warden who enjoyed punishing those bad people that went to hell, he doesn’t tempt us to sin that’s all our own fault. Bored and reluctant to continue his role in the “cosmic design” he ditches hell and goes to LA and ends up helping the LAPD solves crimes because....that’s the angle of the show, Satan as a lovable rouge police consultant.
Doesn’t bother me but I’m certain that this greatly offends many many people.
Someone on this thread said it’s adapted from a comic, I guess being out of ideas they are adapting every comic ever made.
