In 2008, America elected a demagogue who was hailed as a savior to his people. He used Alinsky tactics and a divide-and-conquer approach to bully his way through the election--and after.
Taking the same approach in this election just because your demagogue is saying what you want to hear sounds a lot like the definition of insanity.
Thank you. That's the point I'm trying to make. Instead of cheerleading, I'd prefer to see FR get back to digging deeply.
By equating Trump with Obama, you produce the very vile that prompted your post in the first place. That isn’t progress.
And it is nonsense political calculations like this that prevent conservatives from winning when it counts.
To me it shows they are desperate to try and stay relevant by hitching to the powerhouse candidate.
Iâd take Cruz over Trump, but without Trump in the race weâd just be choosing between Jethro or Mario.

My thoughts exactly
And it is surface-level thinking without regards to the actual thoughts expressed that prevent actual conversations. Look at Trump's recent tack to the left and the lack of concern by supposedly conservative people. In the cult of personality, all that matters is that your guy was attacked... not the substance of the concerns expressed.
“And it is nonsense political calculations like this that prevent conservatives from winning when it counts. “
No, it is the conservative “purists” that lose.
They are like “Born Again” Christians: Put 100 in a room and you’ll get 101 opinions as to who is a Christian and they’ll all claim the others cannot possibly be Christian because they don’t practice their faith like they do.
The Democrats and the Left have their Obama; we, on the right, have ours. Those here that support Mr. Trump should not look with contempt on the idiots who voted for Obama because they are not much better.
They are simply facing reality.
Looks like Trump is going to be nominated and will thrash Hillary.
They don’t want to be left out.
Stephan..your bitter response like many of the Cruz supporters has cost him any chance he had. You have hurt him just like Glen Beck has destroyed him.
If what you say is true, then what I have been saying all along until the election is true. Namely, that America is lost or gone and only a military takeover with a Pinochet type at the head can set things straight until we can get back to something of the Constitution and the rule of law.

The surface of “Obama by Another Name is Still a Bad Idea” is saying Obama and Trump differ in name only. You wrote it, I didn’t, and it cannot bear the weight, nor should it, of serious consideration. Apparently you, by another name, are a jilted girlfriend who was for Trump before you were against him. And now that you think you’ve seen the light, the rest of us languish in ignorance. There’s an old adage that there’s nothing worse than a reformed drunk. It fits.
My mistake. If I'd known you were incapable of reading anything but the headline, I would have ignored you from the start.
I think you should look closer to home.
Trump is not as you are trying to paint him and anyone who actually looks at original source information knows that. You want to magnify his freckles. No candidate is completely pure and Trump knocks the really important issues out of the stadium.
Cruz is devolving and is the one that has been lying and manipulating the image he paints for his supporters. So perhaps you want to actually read the source material on Cruz as well.
For Trump we have 20 years of positions to read with some evolution, some clarification. For Cruz we have about 5 years with several significant inadequately explained hairpin turns. Which one wants to include the whole country, seems to me that’s Trump?
Which one seeks to demonize segments, invent straw men and is subject to the influence of the same class he is demonizing? I am comfortable that I have done the research and evaluation to know it ain’t Trump.
I read it, it’s first order schlock, unworthy of someone with your education. If you’re not sufficiently embarrassed to have the moderators delete this exercise is hypocrisy, then I can’t help.
WHAT? Apparently, you haven't been reading the threads.
WOW. I find you and Glen Beck to be similar to a clock that was design in Germany's black forest.
Poll FReep: If the election were held today, who would be your first choice for President of the United States?
Glenn Beck to Vote for Hillary if McCain is GOP Nominee
Glenn Beck - Why he would of voted for Hillary instead of John McCain
Glenn Beck: McCain would've been worse
Glenn Beck: I May have Voted for Hillary Clinton
Glenn Beck: 'I won't vote for Trump.' (Even if running against Hillary)
