As we approach the first caucuses and primaries, I am happy to say that there is a candidate I am supporting. And that is Sen. Ted Cruz, a true social and constitutional conservative--and a brilliant one, at that. Sen. Cruz "gets" the Constitution and would be guided by it in his governance: limiting the reach and powers of the federal government; nominating solid Supreme Court justices; cutting spending; cutting taxes; and protecting our nation against terrorism. Sen. Cruz is a committed and consistent conservative: pro-life; pro-marriage; and protecting our religious liberty. Ted Cruz is one of the best candidates I've seen in decades. In fact, I even sent a donation today to his campaign (tedcruz.org), that's how much I support his candidacy.

Also, I want to make clear there is a candidate I do NOT support, and that is Donald Trump. Trump is not a conservative, I don't trust him for a minute, and as a candidate he is an absolute embarrassment. I hope he does not get the nomination, because I don't know if I could hold my nose tightly enough to be able to pull the lever for him.

Woody Guthrie wrote:

I suppose
Old Man Trump knows
Just how much
Racial Hate
he stirred up
In the bloodpot of human hearts
When he drawed
That color line
Here at his
Eighteen hundred family project ....

And as if to leave no doubt over Trump’s personal culpability in perpetuating black Americans’ status as internal refugees – strangers in their own strange land – Guthrie reworked his signature Dust Bowl ballad “I Ain’t Got No Home” into a blistering broadside against his landlord:

Beach Haven ain’t my home!
I just cain’t pay this rent!
My money’s down the drain!
And my soul is badly bent!
Beach Haven looks like heaven
Where no black ones come to roam!
No, no, no! Old Man Trump!
Old Beach Haven ain’t my home!

Donald Trump once said:

“My legacy has its roots in my father’s legacy.”

I’m sure that apple didn’t stray far from the tree, Donald

Oh...I know...us Taliban that support Cruz should just put down our principles (which you lack) and walk away.

I DO have mental powers and well defined analyzing abilities. Unfortunately, many others do not. Your problem, not mine.

Thank you. That was an excellent piece by David Limbaugh.

Just a short quote from it:

ed Cruz, on the other hand, has been a thorn in the establishment’s side since he came on the scene. Insiders are astounded that he has actually refused to abandon his campaign promises and his commitment to Reagan conservatism, despite overwhelming pressure and derision from the party and its power brokers.

I have seen it before and you are correct. I do not mind admitting that there are issues like that with Trump, or any of the candidates. In the aggregate however, he has stated he will handle the things I want addressed, and I have absolutely no faith or confidence in any of the sitting governors and senators running to do anything to fix the immediate problems that threaten our republic. They are simply part of the problem. IMHO, we need an outsider and a winner who’s got the stones to take this mess on. I wouldn’t care if it was Godzilla at this point...

Molly, I promised myself not to post to you but you need help.

Stop posting.

Your posts are mostly mindless and contain nothing new or informative.

Or go onto a Trump Worship thread where you will be appreciated.

I know a lot about Woody Guthrie because of a condition that also appeared in my family and I have researched his.

Old Man Trump was apparently not a beneficent angel to the people who lived in his project.

Anyway, he probably Got Things Done.

The only thing that covers, “Skippy”, is your personal rationalization why you don’t like Trump. Since you attack a person’s religion, call them a liar with no proof, etc., I hardly defer to your “judgement”.

I love to hear from someone who has obviously given his decision a lot of thought. I couldn’t agree with you more. Congratulations on choosing wisely!

He certainly showed “Junior” how to bilk millions from government subsidized construction projects, keep politicians “greased”, and trample anyone who would stand in the way.

I want nationalism, not conservative “rule” if you so called “conservatives” are an example! I want America First. I want a strong Country where people can find a job and if they don’t like the one they have, they can find another. I want a country where college students can find summer jobs and little kids can have lemonade stands to teach them the basics of responsibility and economics. I want a country where people are addressed by their rightful titles instead of some young punk calling me by my first name when I have never seen that person before in my life.Another calling me “Grandmaw” with a sneer just doesn’t cut it either. I want a country where people have manners and treat ladies like ladies.....still to be found in some European countries but disappearing here. I want to see America believing in the Constitution again, not trying to make it say what they want it to say and too stupid to even understand what it says in the first place. I want to see country where criminals, whether they be out on the street or within the high echelons of government are treated like criminals and locked up. I want a lot of other things, but that is just for starters!

That industry that is “feeding people” is burning food that could be grown for starving people, reduces MPG, and is harmful to many vehicles and if Trump gets his way he will be a disaster to engines and their fuel systems. And, it is taking money out of the pockets of Americans for redistribution to buy Iowa votes. Yes, typical liberal tactics. And Trump fix the military? The guy who insults ta former POW and doesn’t even know what the nuke triad is? Just what are his qualifications in military? Maybe he can declare bankruptcy on the US debt like he is very good at to fix the economy. Or maybe he can get the prices of IPods up to $10,000. That should help. Maybe he can get his investor George Soros to help or Buffett who he discussed.

You didn’t address the evidence originally brought up in this thread, just stated your opinion that it’s wrong.
