Judge issues permanent injunction against handful of devices found to infringe on a trio of Apple patents.

Court ruling means Samsung can't sell you a Galaxy S3, a phone that has been replace by a succession of Galaxy flagship smartphones.

Samsung has been ordered to stop selling a handful of older smartphones in the US that have already largely vanished from the market.

In the latest round of the Apple v. Samsung patent war, US District Judge Lucy Koh on Monday granted an Apple motion for permanent injunction against devices that use technology covered by patents Samsung was found to be infringing on. Those devices now banned from sale in the US include the Admire, Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S2, Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch, Galaxy S2 Skyrocket, Galaxy S3, and Stratosphere.

The most recent device on the list, the Galaxy S3, which propelled Samsung to the top of the smartphone market, was introduced in 2012 but has since been replaced by a slew of newer Samsung flagship smartphones. Most of the devices on the court's list are no longer offered for sale in the US by Samsung.

Years too late, and long after an Appellate Court ordered her to issue a sales injunction due to egregious patent infringements as the law specified, Judge Lucy Koh, FINALLY issues the injunction against Samsung selling smartphones they no longer sell, long after they have finished milking every penny of profit they could from their infringement of Apple's patents using these phones. Of course, now that there is an injunction in place for these phones which use those patents, Apple can easily add any subsequent phone that has similar features merely be petitioning Judge Lucy Koh to issue a sales injunction on the infringing product. . . and several years later, after Samsung has stopped selling those models, Judge Koh will duly issue an injunction after spending a judicious length of time considering the matter. -- PING!

Pinging dayglored, ThunderSleeps, and Shadow Ace for their ping lists. . .

I have an S4 that has been replaced once by AT&T because it kept turning itself off. Sometimes to reboot, other times you could not get it to turn back on without removing & replacing the battery.

Now the replacement phone is doing the same thing after one of their “push” updates that I didn’t want and couldn’t stop.

I’d like to shove this phone up someone’s...........

Every Samsung phone have had has had this problem.

I know a whole lot of them have, for sure.

I have wondered if there are grounds for a class action suit? Samsung sold the phones knowing this was a common bug.

Just frosts me.

I remember a Zenith black and white set we had that used a wireless remote, the remote had aluminum rods that pinged out a high frequency to the tuner and volume control motors.
