Our government using sophisticated equipment to watch the Oregon protesters, and probably a lot of other Americans.
assuming, like some posters have written, that it is Utility Property and wasn’t put up there by some agency or another.
I guess we will have to see how it plays out. Will they be charged for it, or will that one kinda of disappear....
I can’t help but suspect the second. It comes down to why make the camera hidden and why only cameras pointing in the direction of the protestors?

Look, you all that are defending the hidden cameras, may be right and they are innocent. Honestly, I don’t care if the feds stuck big poles up with cameras on them to watch the protesters as long as everything ends peacefully. I really just don’t trust or like the way things are going.
I had some exchanges with an Obama Agi-Prop Op on Twitter, stirring over the Burns, OR mess.
In the conversation he told me he knew the area, was from there but lived in FL now. Had done software development for BLM in the Burns area.
Did a little search on his time line and found he was throwing crap at Governor Snyder.
I did a search on his name and (exact place in) FL and IT development and found a listing for a company furnishing “highest levels of mobile cybersecurity on personal devices”.
He did not like me looking around and blocked me quickly.
Now, what type of software development would the BLM be doing in Burns, OR?
Or, anti government rebels. Or, just regular vandals.
Electricity is part of the Critical Infrastructure deemed essential for life and safety and to ensure government can continue to operate.
It also helps them find the exact spot a tree took down a line or a truck took out a pole...speeding repair.
It isn’t hidden. The letters SCADA on the box is a flashing neon sign that says there is communications equipment inside. I’m actually surprised its marked at all...probably because its more for monitoring substation malfunctions and less for monitoring trespassers.
And who says they are only pointed towards the protestors? These things do not have large zoom lenses...I doubt they’re effective for more than 500 feet. And frankly the box they are in makes their field of view very limited.
Again...unless there is some particularly unique situation, these are most likely privately owned. Why would the power company care about the protestors?
Feels like a police state, whether done by the feds, state or required by businesses (subcontractors to the police state?).
It is just sad.
There are real problems to go after (endless gang shootings, Islamic infiltrators, illegal immigrants/invaders, corrupt politicians), not a few ticked off rangers and their supporters who are basically having a good old camp out and will eventually disband if left alone.

Considering how many people have seen this video, who may decide to go steal their own camera, I’m sure the power company is regretting their placement near the fence.
But they do this precisely because they want to see as much of the substation as possible. Can you not see in the video that tbe box is oriented to face the substation? If the box were facing out, your concern over placement would be merited...but they aren’t. So I really don’t know why their location bothers you.
