I'm listening to Kudlow's Money Talk on the radio. Larry, the host is furious at Ted Cruz for making his remarks. This has become almost a Rorschach Test where everyone gives their own interpretation on exactly what Ted was saying. I know what he was referring to, the New York that would elect Bill de Blasio, had elected Bloomberg, and Hillary to office long before that. These people were elected in spite of their hard left leanings. Ted was speaking of people like Governor Andrew Cuomo, who said "Pro Gun Supporters have no place in the state of New York. Who can forget about the "artpiece" featuring a crucifix dropped into a large jar of urine.
Larry was saying Cruz has ruined his chances and should leave the race. He said Trump 'eviscerated' Cruz in his responses. Some follow up callers disagreed with him, saying to forgive someone for a mistake is the Christian thing to do, vs disowning that person completely.
I don't know many individuals actually from New York, the city or the state. Are any of you more familiar with citizens of this state? Are most this sensitive to negative remarks? Do they still see themselves as the cultural centerpiece of the country?
Great city full of too many very stupid liberals. It is governed top to bottom by liberals. It is a wonder they can pour piss out of a boot.
#NewYorkValues
Not this one. Cruz had it right. Trump played the 9/11 in classic liberal style.
Rudy, is that you?
Texan? I thought Cruz haters think he’s Canadian?
He is really thin skinned. So is DT.
Cruz is a rock.
And whoever is Tweeting that is simply whoring out the heroes of 9/11. Shame on them using those images when they know better. Typical liberal idiocy.
How is that leftist? Our police officers in NYC and first responders were great. Cruz didn’t explain his comment and made an error
Trump was right. What kind of an idiot tries to draw a division between Iowans and New Hampsherites (who are probably just like New Yorkers too) with New Yorkers? Makes no sense if you’re running for President of the country. Although it does make sense if you are a greasy lawyer pandering to Evangelicals to such a degree you’re willing to embrace a narrative of “I won’t be President of NEW YORK”.
I thought Free Republic was for conservatives. Cruz is a conservative, Trump is not.
You’re not the only one listening to Kudlow giving CRuz a new you-know-what....
Larry Kudlow calls Ted Cruz Out: “Take Cruz Out” (of Race)

He did explain his comments and they had nothing to do with 9/11. Are all Trump zombies idiots?
Nonsense. Cruz smeared them all saying they were about “money and media” and Trump brilliantly turned to history to show New York heroes under the worst kind of adversity.
THe reason it’s trending on Twitter is because millions of people understand this, obviously you’re in the minority.
Ha, a Trump zombie. Explains a lot.
He was until 15 months ago.
In fact he was so Canadian he could have run for political office in Canada.
I think after a few weeks to let the dust settle, Ted can still iron this wrinkle out to most GOP satisfaction. Ted can turn this in a way to work in his favor, but not now. Let’s get through the first two primaries first. When he brings up the topic again, Ted will need to be direct, concise, and unambiguous. Leave his lawyer’s cap at home on that day. Don’t use any Star Wars jokes either.
My take on what Cruz was implying from the start.
Of course, those old Pace Salsa commercials also summed up my feelings about NYC very nicely a long time ago. NY'rs get very thin skinned when they hear how the rest of the country does not idolize but despises them.
It just occurred to me that the whole NY values thing. Maybe he pulled a trump there and left it to cause a huge stir and get everyone’s attention, to be walked back.
911 was an American values issue.
I posted an article from Politico Magazine, made first comment and it disappeared. It calls DT a bully a lot and explains why it won’t work on Cruz.
