I thought Rubio did great...Just don’t feel I can trust him...And it funny, kinda how since the terrorist problem is escalating the other contenders are subtly coming around to Trump’s view...Except poor ole Jeb...
Like so many other "conservatives" here in LA when things get down and dirty they get sanctimonious and keep their hands clean. Okay there aren't that many of us.
Prager's reaction to Trumps entry and comments about illegals produced the normal kneejerk reaction conservatives do around here when they think liberals are watching. In the meantime I almost get taken out by a mexican lawn service green circa 1991 toyota tacoma pickup truck going 45 on the freeway.
I usually don't listen to him as he is up against Rush and I switch over sometimes at commercials. That day I did listen and exposed himself as someone who is all talk and no results.
No real point here LS just some of my experiences. Sure he is a lovely man. He just reacted exactly like George Will et al.
It just shows how far gone we are when Trump's common sense is so incendiary to the convectional wisdom that a smart guy like Prager can't get past his conditioning. That and anybody who chooses to live in Hidden Hills is by definition (mine) crazy.
Oh, and I never met Prager---just his staff. Interviews were by phone. His strength is Judaism and its connection to American values, but he was terrible to Trump.

Rubio did show Cruz as a serial flip-flopper. That didn’t help Cruz at all. Cruz asked to speak after Rubio had finished answering his question. He should have just kept quiet.
Which is utterly irrelevant.
Only the Establishment cares.
I’m a New Yorker — and I do not feel insulted by Cruz’s remark. Especially not with Comrade DeBloodio in power and his sidekick Melissa Marx-Viverito.
As much as I love New York, it’s as liberal as can be and always has been.
Trump knows full well that Cruz’s remark had NOTHING to do with 9/11, and his cheap, opportunistic invocation of that horrible day demeans the service of our first responders who did such courageous work.
He should be ashamed, but like the cheap politician he is, The Donald has no shame.
On the contrary, like the cheap politician he is, Ted Cruz insulted the entire city as well as the entire state of New York. The fact that YOU...who is a Cruz supporter were not offended does not mean that others, some who are/were Cruz supporters, were not HIGHLY insulted. Cruz showed his stupidity. Trump showed his smarts. My next door neighbor who just moved here from N.Y. was HIGHLY insulted.
I don’t think most people see it your way. The media tells them they do, but the media hs its own agenda — which on this particular matter, happens to coincide with yours.

The fact is that New York is liberal. Liberal values are not most of America’s values.
As I said, no insult there. Not in the least — except to stupid people who need to be offended and follow like sheep whatever the media tells them to think.
And Trump’s invocation of 9/11 demeaned what happened on taht occasion.
What Cruz did do that is surprising is he walked right into a left hook with his NY values statement. He underestimated Donald Trump’s ability to articulate and think on his feet. It was an amateurish move and it cost him.
The other thing Cruz did was get mired down in a back and forth with Rubio that he came out on the losing end of. All in all not a great night for Ted and I highly suspect you will see it reflected in the new polls coming out post debate this next week.

I totally disagree with you. Funny how when Trump points out something about Cruz you call him a cheap politician, but when Cruz outright lies, that gets a pass.
Cruz did not lie. To say that Cruz lied is a lie.
Trump is a cheap politician.
Cruz, in his so called “authority” as a Constitutional expert openly said that Trump’s mother being Scottish born disqualified Trump! IT WAS AN OUTRIGHT LIE! Trump’s mother was a naturalized citizen several years before Trump’s birth, therefore Trump was born of TWO CITIZENS which is the requirement of Article II, Section 1, Clause 5, of the United States Constitution. In addition to being born on the soil, Trumps parents were both U.S. Citizens. Either Cruz is ignorant or he is trying to cast a doubt on Trump’s citizenship which is an outright lie. Trumps natural born citizenship is rock solid. Cruz’s natural born citizenship is in question. Typical lawyer trick, change the conversation and throw back the accusation on the plaintiff.
He said that as a joke and as mockery of Trump’s phony claims that Cruz is disqualified.
And you are wrong about the requirement. Cruz’s natural-born citizenship is not in question, and Trump knows it.
I have two observations that many here will disagree with. With all the problems this country faces, I feel the "New York values" topic got too much attention. Also, slick Rubio played dirty at the end. This was preplanned. Cruz did not get a proper chance to respond.
I don’t see Cruz coming back from this. I thought he probably had Iowa in the bag but now I’m not so sure.
Everyone in Luntz’s focus group thought Cruz won last night. EVERYONE! They thought he was sharp, brilliant, strong, on point, and mostly right. They liked that he was talking about issues instead of stupid stuff, and they liked the way he stuffed Trump on the birth distraction.
Luntzs focus groups are about as accurate as Dick Morris predictions. LOL!
I agree, I thought Rubio did very well too, made some good points several times, but noway will I ever trust the guy.
Trump has been dominating the narrative ever since he started. Nobody had said a word about illegal immigration until he brought it up by telling it like it is. He was vilified by the press, and a week or so later Kate Steinle was killed in San Francisco, making his point for him.
Same for the terrorist issue, he was being blasted for his comments, and the attack in San Bernadino brought it to national attention, which is when he called for a temporary pause in Muslim immigration. Again setting the narrative. Everyone else last night tried their best to derail his position, he replied by simply saying he cares about the safety of the country...I don’t think he could have handled it better. But it’s at the top of everyone’s campaign agenda now because he tells it like it is. And so far nobody has been able to refute a thing he’s said...
Except Cruz last night on the birther issue, which looks like it now may be headed to court.
