the holocaust was in the 1940's....if you are a survivor and haven't achieved the ability to feed yourself....I would be TOTALLY amazed.

That is true.

But they did keep 120 German division busy and though I’m sure they didn’t mean to, they saved a Lot of American soldiers’ lives.

I know it wasn’t popular with the soldiers, but didn’t Patton want to go straight into Russia at the end? or is that myth?

The Soviets stood by while we initially took a beating from the Japs, then slogged through the islands and in Asia fighting them; they saved no American lives in the Pacific theater.

Patton knew eventually we would fight them, so we should continue through Germany into Russia. He, like Churchill, understood that fighting a war for Poland’s independence (as Britain and France had) meant nothing if Poland was just handed over from Hitler to Stalin (as it was in 1945).
