Fried food (Chicken Fried Steak)

Barbeque (Brisket)

Too damn hot in the summertime to stay outdoors forever, unless you have to. (summer is about 9 months long here)

Cannot be stressed enough. When my family butchered the hogs we even had cracklins which is a totally different kind of thing than the flash fried pork rinds you can find in a bag in the grocery store. Southerners even learned to fry pork fat!
