Is Steven Avery guilty?
Avery’s IQ was said to be 70. People here are excused from crimes for that because they are considered mentally disabled(bullshit). He definitely functions at a higher level.
I agree on that. His nephew seemed like a 70 but Avery did not. He does function at a higher level.
At least 73 or 74
That sequence of events is both physically and anatomically impossible...Right?
There is no way the prosecution made the case for guilty without a reasonable doubt. He was about to come into a lot of money. Why would he go nuts and rape and murder someone at that point? Why was he having two calm normal conversations during the hours he was supposed to be killing the photographer and destroying her body? How could there have been no evidence whatsoever other than that key that the woman was ever inside the trailer and garage? Someone killed that woman; the bullet fragment could have been from that. The key was planted. The Averys kept off their own property for a week? The banned county sheriffs always finding the evidence when they weren’t supposed to be anywhere near? The victim’s cell phone calls erased?
Why would he leave the car right there instead of crushing it? Why would her blood even be in the car, as he didn’t transport the body anywhere? And the bits of bone in the burn barrel show that someone did transport her remains to the burn site outside his house, and was a little sloppy.
The guy was a real loser but this didn’t make any sense.
And the poor nephew. He was treated so poorly. That public defender, the smiley blond guy, should be disbarred. That poor boy didn’t belong behind bars for one minute and now he will spend most of his life there. I hope there is a chance for a fair trial for them both again somehow.
What a tragic story. I do not feel Justice was served.
Why would the mom lie? They were monstrous to that kid.
70 IQ is pretty low. Thank goodness they did have to video all those inquisitions so we can see how cruel and unfair they were.
I doubt Avery’s IQ is that low - it is Brandon that has the borderline MR IQ. Avery is probably low normal.
I don’t see any reason why she would lie. I’ll leave that possibility out there since I’m sure I didn’t see all of the evidence. But I lean more towards the state knowing they’d have no chance of getting a confession if mom was at his side. Pure shame he didn’t appear to have competent legal counsel to defend him.
Bright or not you just described the actions of a sadist
His case should have correctly been thrown out. I can’t believe the entire state of Wisconsin could not give him any fair trial or appeal. That defender should have been disbarred.
Did you not notic that the poster has no tv, does not watch shows, and was just asking for information?
Your response here is unreasonable and snarky
I think he’s most probably guilty but what happened with the young nephew bothers the heck out of me. I don’t think the murder went down the way the prosecution laid it out. That’s why it seems so sketchy.
I did toy with the idea that the older brother of the nephew could have been the guilty one and not Avery but ultimately I’ve decided Avery did it. I also wondered if The Innocence Project were the ones that had caused the hole in the vile of blood when they were working his previous conviction. Also interesting that The Innocence Project turned him down for this case, that says a lot, in my opinion.
The prosecution was shoddy and I don’t believe they proved the case, even though I believe Steven guilty. The documentary was meant to lead viewers in one direction or at least muddy the water and so they leave out information that would help satisfy our questions.
I don't know who you are Nif but if someone asks a question like that the person is going to get snarky answers. Or maybe you just did not bother to see how this person asked the question. If I don't know what people are talking about I search it. I don't leave sarcastic remarks. Honestly I don't know where you come from but you don't ask a question like that unless you are in a bar.
In case your wondering just go to post 6. That's what started this. Then look at my post 34.
Hard to know about Steve. Government - definitely guilty.
Having said that I believe the prosecutions sequence of events is also possible.
So where do I stand? Heck if I know.
Another thing, the brother in law should have been looked into. He gave some conflicting statements. He could have done it and framed Avery. Or maybe Peter Pan did it?
I think they should have looked into the brother in law. He easily could had framed Avery. He’s the one who gave conflicting statements about how high the flames were. And he was supposed to be out hunting when all this occurred.
Then we wonder how dullards keep electing charlatans to high office.
Just napalm and cluster bomb the entire county of Manitowoc-ewewac-amuc Wisconsin (or whatever it's called) and be done with it. Everyone and everything there is guilty, including the cat that Steve Avery threw in a campfire.
A working link (or 2 or 3) would make this thread a lot better:
