Ted Cruz isn't only surging in the polls -- he's now in second place nationally and leads in Iowa -- he is also raising a truckload of money. In the last quarter of 2015 alone the Republican presidential candidate received almost $20 million from his supporters.
Not bad for a grassroots candidate who's despised and hated by his own party's leadership team.
Small wonder then that Cruz bragged about these results during a phone call with supporters, adding that he's confident he'll be the Republican nominee -- soon:
"Thereâs a very good possibility that the Republican primary will be decided by the end of March."
That doesn't mean, however, that he believes it's going to be an easy ride. Quite the opposite in fact: he also warned his supporters to get ready for an epic battle, telling them it would get "uglier and uglier and uglier."
"Weâre winning right now, and as a result, I want to tell everyone to get ready. Strap on the full armor of God. Get ready for the attacks that are coming. Weâve already seen hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars in attacks directed at us. Well I went to tell you that come the month of January, we ainât seen nothing yet."
He added:
"I want to encourage everyone to get ready, because starting tomorrow morning, we are in a 90-day sprint to win this nomination, and then to turn around and win the general election. To defeat Hillary Clinton in November of 2016 and to turn this country around."

Oh yes we can! You cant get rid of me that easy!
Then don’t give. You act like he came to your house and robbed you. Money is a necessary evil to campaigns.
Lord I wish we could all Talk face to face.
Doing the poka poke on the keyboard is so useless
Lord I wish we could all Talk face to face.
Doing the poka poke on the keyboard is so useless
Says the imbecile who, with a flick of his keyboard, condemns everyone who supports Donald Trump because they aren't Christian enough to support Cruz, who keeps sending out pleas for money with email titles like "Dropping out," "Worried sick," etc etc etc.
Fair enough!
Fair enough!
Yeah, don’t know how that happened.
you’re still hung up on one off hand comment I made about a blog a month ago or so? Why are you so obsessed with me? Why are you so obsessed with a single blog? Why am I so important that one snide comment about your love blog still occupies your entire cerebral cortex, small though it might be.
Gunner, this dude needs blog therapy.
As a businessman, he worked the bureaucracy and made it work for him. That’s what the bigs can do. Bureaucracy has been his friend.
Besides fossil - he’s everywhere in interviews and everywhere in videos - and in debates - and it’s amazing and astounding that you can think he wants to shrink bureaucracies even though he’s never ever ever ever mentioned the concept...not once...that I’m aware of. You are in fantasy island.
Very good posting! Nothing un-Christian in those goals.
Yes so says the person who did not need a personal attack to make his point, but maybe that is how Reformed Presbyterians roll.
Oh and so says a lot of others if you are even halfway paying attention to the thread.
The Cruz campaign has indeed ask for $5and even as low as $3 with desperate language in numerous emails:
Friend, I can only defeat the Obama-Clinton machine — and ensure an end to their disastrous policies — with your immediate help.
As you know, in less than 36 hours, I have the most important deadline of this campaign.
I asked my staff to check, and as of today, it looks like you haven’t been able to stand with me financially. Is there any way you can contribute even $5 before the end of 2015?
Will you contribute just $5 — or $35 or $50 if you can afford it — to ensure I can meet my 2015 goal?
I think what granny is admitting without wanting to admit it is that only super wealthy people should be elected officials.
You know, Trump, Soros, Jobs, Immelt, all the well connected government cronies....that’s who she wants running the show.
Thank-you!
That’s true - it gets tiresome and tedious...and the language is stupid.
But this is what campaign fund raisers do. It’s working. You can unsubscribe and of course not donate.
“Ted needs your help.” Hand it over.
You imply that Trump is “ungodly”. Is that fair? He has had issues in his personal life. By the same token, not everything Cruz has done in D.C. has been honorable, e.g., some votes.
An "off hand" comment where you claimed to have looked for an About page that was, in your lying mania, absent, and that the blog had appeared just "recently" as part of a "Trump front"?
What paranoid, detailed, delusional off hand comments you're capable of making, at least when your employer is touched upon.
Your posts are so inherently offensive I don't know whether to laugh or cry upon reading this response of yours.
