Ted Cruz isn't only surging in the polls -- he's now in second place nationally and leads in Iowa -- he is also raising a truckload of money. In the last quarter of 2015 alone the Republican presidential candidate received almost $20 million from his supporters.
Not bad for a grassroots candidate who's despised and hated by his own party's leadership team.
Small wonder then that Cruz bragged about these results during a phone call with supporters, adding that he's confident he'll be the Republican nominee -- soon:
"Thereâs a very good possibility that the Republican primary will be decided by the end of March."
That doesn't mean, however, that he believes it's going to be an easy ride. Quite the opposite in fact: he also warned his supporters to get ready for an epic battle, telling them it would get "uglier and uglier and uglier."
"Weâre winning right now, and as a result, I want to tell everyone to get ready. Strap on the full armor of God. Get ready for the attacks that are coming. Weâve already seen hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars in attacks directed at us. Well I went to tell you that come the month of January, we ainât seen nothing yet."
He added:
"I want to encourage everyone to get ready, because starting tomorrow morning, we are in a 90-day sprint to win this nomination, and then to turn around and win the general election. To defeat Hillary Clinton in November of 2016 and to turn this country around."

if his campaign stops anywhere short of the Oval Office - my prediction is correct.
I never gave a date it would happen.
And if he wins the Presidency, he’ll swerve left at some point and leave you in shame.
BTW, your insults, your opinions, don’t matter - anyone who is a snot and hides gutlessly behind a screen name is a non entity. Sundance too. No predictions without your name on it even really exist.....
You are a liberal, by your own words. You think government can create jobs. You think you are entitled to social security now. What a liberal weenie.
It is good to be a crony, but its un American and sucks for everyone who is not a crony. You’d love Cuba.
How can you claim to write if you can’t read? The discussion is NOT about whether your prediction is accurate or not. It’s about your childish, snotty denial that you ever made it.
Can you honestly not comprehend this? If you can’t, forget analysis; you can’t even process two plus two.
No, you can’t get off that easy. The point you were obsessed with was INDEED about both the prediction and my recollection of it. Sorry, you can’t fake that now.
I frankly don’t remember writing it - it must have been a long time ago...months ago....I write a LOT of stuff, I do a LOT of interviews - especially on internet forums....where a comment might be in context of 25 previous posts.
Having said that, it still may end up being pure unadulterated genius.
You have to see this to believe it. A poster with whom you’ve gone a round or two predicted Trump wouldn’t win the primary. When I reminded him of it, he snottily and childishly denied ever making such a prediction.
So I pasted the prediction into the thread. You have to read this entire page to see how often and how stupidly he tried to change the subject. It’s bizarre.
He still hasn’t apologized for smearing me with the false accusation that I made his entire ‘Trump won’t make it,’ prediction up out of whole cloth.
And or course he never will. Arrogant people rarely if ever apologize, even when the whole world can see they’re in the wrong.
If your memory is so faulty that you have no recollection of predicting Trump would lose the primaries, perhaps you should be less obnoxious when denying you said something you in fact did say:
‘I never predicted that.......you are indeed a fantasy fiction writer.’
You are a liberal, by your own words. You think government can create jobs. You think you are entitled to social security now. What a liberal weenie.
How about giving people back what they paid into Social Security and terminating the program completely? We can manage our own money better the the federal government!
...and RC one - If your retirement plan is to live off your Social Security checks you’re in for a world of hurt.
Well that would suit me just fine, but that's not going to ever happen, and it would have to include the time value of money. There is only one way out of this mess that has any potential of actually becoming law....and that is the common sense, slow and graduated raising of the eligibility age. Period. Nothing else can work, that has any chance of passing ever.
Well, that particular post went right over your head. :)
Government tax and regulatory policies can certain create an environment that fosters or discourages job creation.
no, if you were joking, then you made my case and destroyed yours. Perhaps you don’t even understand your own post.
You're not even worth arguing with, Wright. :)
That’s all you have left now, insults, demagoguery, and worn out talking points that no longer hold true. You’re a fool if you think the government isn’t very much capable of creating jobs and of eroding jobs. or was it just an accident that the economy tanked during the Carter administration and then recovered during the Reagan administration? You’re a fool. Quit wasting my time fool.
whoa there skippette....yes, the government CAN erode jobs indeed....but they cannot CREATE THEM....it’s all created in the private sector, and only redistributed in the gov sector.
What a total economic ignoramus you are.
Amen:
Departments to close:
Energy
Education
HHS
Transportation
Labor
Veterans Affairs (should go back to DoD)
Close down the Air Force and EPA too. Retool the FDA severly and the USPTO.
Oh, OK, they can create conditions favorable to job erosion but not to job creation. right. What did I tell you about wasting my time fool? LOL at you. You have lost. Go away.
You remain economically stunted. Yes, gov can create conditions that are favorable or unfavorable.....BUT THEY DO NOT CREATE THE JOBS...they can only create the conditions. You would be laughed out of every conservative economics class ever held. But you'd be welcome at Huff Po or MSNBC.
Semantics are the last refuge of the internet argument loser. Ted Cruz wants to raise the retirement age and decrease SS benefits for the younger generation. I think that’s a bad idea and I won’t support it or him so long as he adheres to that plan. I like Trump’s plan better-use the government to create conditions favorable to job creation- just like Ronald Reagan did yet different. Your solution and Ted’s solution isn’t really a solution-it’s just effing people. That’s what government does best and you and Ted are all for it but I’m not and either is Donald Trump. That’s the bottom line.
The Defense of the nation is one of the things the Constitution specifically provided for.
Department of Energy should mostly go, but there is a part of that related to what was the AEC that must stay in some agency. It is weapons related.
I believe the VA has it’s place.
The nature of the post office has changed radically. but it should still exist in some form.
But you have the right idea.
