Ted Cruz isn't only surging in the polls -- he's now in second place nationally and leads in Iowa -- he is also raising a truckload of money. In the last quarter of 2015 alone the Republican presidential candidate received almost $20 million from his supporters.
Not bad for a grassroots candidate who's despised and hated by his own party's leadership team.
Small wonder then that Cruz bragged about these results during a phone call with supporters, adding that he's confident he'll be the Republican nominee -- soon:
"Thereâs a very good possibility that the Republican primary will be decided by the end of March."
That doesn't mean, however, that he believes it's going to be an easy ride. Quite the opposite in fact: he also warned his supporters to get ready for an epic battle, telling them it would get "uglier and uglier and uglier."
"Weâre winning right now, and as a result, I want to tell everyone to get ready. Strap on the full armor of God. Get ready for the attacks that are coming. Weâve already seen hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars in attacks directed at us. Well I went to tell you that come the month of January, we ainât seen nothing yet."
He added:
"I want to encourage everyone to get ready, because starting tomorrow morning, we are in a 90-day sprint to win this nomination, and then to turn around and win the general election. To defeat Hillary Clinton in November of 2016 and to turn this country around."

I guess you’ll just have to find someone else to F.
Why do you think you’re being “effed” if the retirement age is raised? What kind of liberal weenie entitlement dweeb are you?
Here’s where you explain why Bachman didn’t make it, and why Trump will not make it:
(snip)”Bachmann didn’t end up a big time loser because she had bad advisors and made mistakes. She didn’t make it because she is who she is, and she’s not Prez material for any number of reasons. So I respect your question, but I do not buy your premise.
Now why will Donald not make it? Any number of reasons, or a combo of them. Foremost is that Trump is Trump, and Trump has a much longer history of being a Democrat liberal than he does a conservative, and he’s really not that conservative over all. He just happens to be very effective right now about some of his conservative beliefs. And to be sure, he is extremely effective right now. I applaud what he’s doing, and he certainly has the right enemies.
But he was just as passionate when he argued for universal health care. He was just as passionate when he said Obama is great. He was just this passionate when he said Paul Ryan was too extreme, and that we need to “reach across the aisle” more. He is so so so new to this conservative thing.
People like you will eventually realize this. He will probably slip up and let some of that inner liberal out at some point - which will hasten this impact.

and if he doesn’t win the Oval Office, it will be precisely because of what I wrote......you are counting your chickens a little early here dude....
I don’t have conversations with people that insult me. I’ll be voting for Donald Trump and we’re going to be talking more about how Ted Cruz intends to screw the working class out of the social security benefits that they have been paying into for decades.
“...no one like you does.....but a lot of folks do. Again none like you at all.”
We finally agree on something.
he’s not trying to do that...you have no understanding of his plan......I don’t know what you’re smoking. You can willfully remain ignorant if that is your will.
A: On Social Security, I am campaigning on a series of very specific reforms. For seniors receiving Social Security or near Social Security, there should be no changes in benefits whatsoever. For younger workers, we need to do three fundamental reforms.
1.Gradually increase the retirement age.
2.Social Security benefits right now grow about 1% greater than inflation; we should have those benefits grow at the rate of inflation, not 1% more.
3.Third change that I think is absolutely critical is to allow taxpayers to have a portion of the Social Security funds go to a personal account that they own and control.
‘I never predicted that.......you are indeed a fantasy fiction writer.’
That was you denying you ever predicted Trump would lose.
So I posted your prediction that Trump would lose.
And you are not honest enough to apologize.
Sundance has you beat, Wright. And you should still apologize.
Dude....Trump hasn’t won yet. He hasn’t a single vote yet. Your entire argument is premature....
so which of those do you think is wrong and why?
You know, Trump, Soros, Jobs, Immelt, all the well connected government cronies....that's who she wants running the show.
I think you're confused. Trump isn't a "well connected government cron[y]". He's just a "super wealthy" individual who knows how to pay for government "intervention".
And he's telling us exactly how it works.
I appreciate that.
More importantly, I appreciate how he's laying the bloody entrails of The Media on the floor for all of us to enjoy.
Trump IS HIMSELF a well connected government crony? How can you be so blind????? So uninformed? He brags about it in The Art of the Deal!!!! JEEZ.
He also still believes in cronyism, still to this minute supporting ethanol and Kelo and so on.
You’re in a dream world.
Please note that in post 233.....someone who is just a super wealthy individual who knows how to pay for government intervention is NOT A CRONY!!!
Have you ever heard anything so intellectually bankrupt????
This is probably why I've never read your stuff.
BTW - how's the suspension for abusing FR private mail going? Is the penalty box for much longer?
Oh, Good Lord. Don't get The Vapors on me - it's unseemly.
Restrain yourself, man.
This is not to say that private retirment funds shouldn't be encouraged. they definitely should be.
This isn't just me stumping for Trump either. I am adamantly opposed to reducing the retirement benefits of Americans who work hard and play by the rules.
Are you dense? If not, then stop switching topics. The topic is NOT if Trump will win. The topic is if you ever predicted he would lose.
I said you did.
You snottily denied it.
I posted PROOF that you did.
And you lack either the intelligence or the integrity to admit you were wrong, and to apologize for your snottiness.
YOU lose!
