Trump has “won” the debates by votes being cast before the debates even started. He is popular with his fan base, but the battle is for the undecided voters.
If I am an undecided voter, I am not going to be persuaded by attacks on Bill Clinton’s sexcapades or Hillary’s bathroom breaks. I think those people want to gain some understanding of a candidate’s knowledge and positions on the issues.
I don’t think Trump is particularly knowledgeable in many areas. It has been obvious even in the debates so far and will only be magnified if he goes one-on-one.

That is a very good point and one I agree with.
I would just add that you've identified one of the things that can become a real problem on political forums: most of us are more or less committed to voting against the DNC, even if not yet for the GOP, so we don't need that much convincing on that point. The uncommitted voter, however, does need persuading, and as you point out, fixating on those things is not going to win over the uncommitted.

I personally think most undecided voters are lefty morons anyway. They just want to think of themselves as the decisive factor in any election. Maybe I’m just cynical but I don’t put much faith in those people period.

What you fail to consider is that a leader manages. For example, he would arrange for a bunch of concrete trucks to show up on time, with the correct permits and licences, and dump the concrete where it is supposed to go. I doubt that he would be expected to know the engine displaced of the concrete trucks. Wisdom is not what a man knows but how he employs the knowledge he has. Only pedants think otherwise.

"gain some understanding of a candidate's knowledge and positions" Voting in America is a fracking beauty contest.
Why do you think the 17th Amendment is working so well for the Democommies?
