Ted Cruz:" No Interest" In Being Trump's VP
MoFo Politics ^ | 12/17/2015 | Via Aam Carolla

Dec. 17, 2015

Via Adam Carolla.

On whether Cruz would serve as Trump's VP:

Adam Carolla: They're talking a lot about you and Trump, and possibly vice presidency, has there been any discussion of that?

TC: Uh, none whatsoever. And I have no interest whatsoever.

On whether Cruz would pick Trump as VP:

AC: You don't want him to be your vice president??

TC: You know, it is difficult to see Donald Trump serving as anybody's vice president.

True, but politics makes strange bedfellows, as the saying goes. Fiorina's main attraction is that her on the ticket completely neutralizes Hillary's main anatomical argument for her candidacy. Like it or not, that is a consideration to a good portion of the electorate.

Take gender off the table and Hillary has zilch to run on. She won't be able to take on Trump directly, but if Cruz is on the bottom of the ticket, expect to see lots of demonizing of him as a "heartbeat away".

If Cruz isn't tapped as Trump's VP (still the preferred ticket for many here) then he'd certainly make a superb Attorney General with an eye towards a SCOTUS appointment at first opportunity. In any event, any such speculation is months premature at this point.

That pic of Cruz is cringeworthy. Appearances aren’t everything but that contributes to a very dismissing picture of a wanna be who is anything but ready.

Fiorina's main attraction is that her on the ticket completely neutralizes Hillary's main anatomical argument for her candidacy.

Hillary going after the women whom her husband raped neutralizes her anatomical argument. Trump's campaign has already begun to talk about this openly.

Good answers to both questions. He is running for President not VP.

The answer in Trump as VP was brilliant. He said no, without insulting Trump.

My choice: Rep. Cynthia Lummis, a Wyoming Republican and the only female member of the rebellious House Freedom Caucus, is retiring from Congress.

Probably doesn’t want the job though.

Cruz is a sloppy guy. The genius was lied to by McConnell is another example.

I agree, but Trump will do whatever it takes to win and if he feels that Carly on the ticket will tip the balance in a number of voters' minds, then I could easily see him picking her.

Remember, voting is an emotional decision for huge portions of the electorate. Those who ignore that fact do so at their peril. That's why ideological purity is a poor litmus test for any candidate.

I am 100% sure Trump will not pick any R candidate. He will probably pick someone with experience in the military, IMHO. Fiorina? No freaking way.

But thought enough previously to be closely associated with Mr. Cruz and his wife for years. I would advise be extremely suspect of anything coming out of the Bush dynasty.

Ignoring my tag line, how do you figure Firoina brings in more votes than Cruz as vp?

Picking a complete unknown for the VP slot would be highly risky and would further alienate the RNC who Trump will need to woo back after they have a good cry over his cinching the nomination.

A lot depends on the role he envisions for his VP. Traditionally, the VP's job is to "balance the ticket" and provide broader electoral appeal for the candidate and then assume funeral duty for the next four years.

Trump will have no shortage of superstar talent among his cabinet and senior advisors to round out his team, but the VP slot is a very special political choice, and the only other member of the executive branch who is elected. So odds are that one of his current rivals for the nomination will be the one tapped.

Being that they were both involved in Texas state
politics/government of course paths could cross.
Be suspect of whatever you want but don’t bother
flashing moronic Cruz/Bush conspiracy bullshit in front
of me. It is every bit as appealing as the Trump/Clintons
conspiracy. I am just not that stupid.
