Merry Christmas, fellow Freepers! Once again, it is Christmas Eve and once again, many of us find ourselves, for various reasons, alone. Many of us have circumstances that have led to a solo Christmas Eve. Mine: My marriage fell apart in 2009. Part of my agreement with my ex-wife is that she has our daughter Christmas Eve and Christmas morning and she is with me the rest of Christmas day. Not a perfect solution, but I would rather say âhelloâ than âgoodbyeâ to my little girl on Christmas. That, alas, means that on the Eve of our most family-oriented of holidays I find myself here. By myself. No big deal. Iâm used to it and have found I donât mind at all. Anyone else out there flying solo this evening?
This is my 2nd Christmas since my husband died. I have my kids near by and we’ll be happy tomorrow, but tonight my house is lonely. I miss him every day but especially on days that brought him such pleasure, like being with his family during Christmas.
Merry Christmas from your New Mexico FRiend.

Merry Christmas Sweet FRiend! How are you and how is the land of deserts?
I too lost my love. Tears for you, and I hope that you can stumble through tomorrow as I hope to do.
May God bless you and yours this CHRISTmas time. Mrs. Zeugma left us this september to live with her Lord and Savior, sothis is a hard year for me. Enjoy every moment you can have with your daughter. Each and every one is precious beyond compare.
Merry Christmas Skooz and everyone else on this thread from somewhat warmish Toronto this year.
Thank you. I agree. I’m so sorry for your loss. May God comfort you as only He can.
Wow.
Just wow.
Merry Christmas.
Wow.
Just wow.
Merry Christmas.
I haven’t seen it since 2007 or 2008. I had the DVD, but my x-wife took it when she left. :)
I almost called her to see if I could drop by and pick it up, but she lives across town and I didn’t want the drive. I found it on Amazon streaming for $4.99. Two clicks and I was watching it.
It’s as good as I remember.
May God wrap you in His arms and give you the comfort only He is capable of giving.
May you find joy in this celebration of the birth of His Son.
What a great idea. I might look into doing something similar next year.
thanks. I feel better hanging around on this thread. :)
Yeah, right? It’s like you love them all sure. But after a few minutes you’re thinking “Well, Merry Christmas, great seeing you all , love you...BYE NOW! and home you go.(or they go.)
This thread is a reminder of the community FR truly is. I hope Christmas is a time of refreshment and renewal for all FReepers, no matter with whom, or whether, they celebrate the holiday.
:-)
True stat: 25% of all divorces remarry.
My parents did.
Fascinating.
I would rather dig out my eyeballs with a red-hot spoon and fill the holes with molten lava and muriatic acid.
But, that’s just me.
Christmas time has turned into something that I’ve come to dread each year.
Seemingly endless go,go,go to Christmas this and that, the same DVD’s played, the same tons of useless junk that piles up, and having little to no downtime.
I hate that I have gotten this way. At one time I think I enjoyed it. It’s been a long time.
You have a good evening and a blessed day. Just read your homepage. fascinating. Thanks
